Welcome to the December 1st edition of the The Mane Place for Lion News. As we step into the festive month of December, it brings me great joy to extend warm greetings to our Lion Community. Join me in exploring the highlights, acknowledging the dedication of our students, and embracing the core values that continue to shape Leadership Prep.

Congratulations goes out to the following teams and all of teams that played in the Chess Tournament. The following teams made it to the State Competition in Austin, Texas Saturday, December 9th.

Middle school Team Yellow -1st place

Middle School Team White- 3rd place

Ritvick Thorpunoori, Jason Lim, Ethan Deister, and Devanshu Mirsha

Middle School Team Blue- tied for 4th

Yaswanth Grandhi, Samardh Miriyala, Anshul Datla, and Kavish Bhatt

High School Gold Team- 2nd place and each player tied for 2nd overall wins winning 3/4 rounds!!!

• Girls' skirt length must be no shorter than four inches above the floor when kneeling, and solid navy modesty shorts are to be worn underneath skirts/skorts/jumpers at all times.
• Short and long sleeve shirts must be white, navy or forest green collared shirts. High school students may also choose a black collared shirt. Shirts must be solid in color with no insignia or logos except for the LPS logo. If a long sleeve undershirt is worn under a short sleeve shirt, it must be solid white, navy or forest green.
• All free dress or jean day dress must meet the requirements of the LPS dress code.

EXTENDED FALL SEMESTER DEADLINE FOR HOURS! The deadline for submitting hours to qualify for fall semester community service requirements has been extended to Sunday, December 3, 2023. This change was made to allow our students to serve the weekend of Dec.2/3 and have the hours count for the fall semester. Please be sure to have your student log their hours quickly if they serve that weekend! Our new deadline for spring hours is Sunday May 5, 2024, for the same reason.

CLOTHING DONATION VALIDATION: If your student has donated clothes (this is through our LPS-coordinated drive found under “Ongoing Opportunities”) and has not had their hours verified yet, even though they have sent in their picture, please re-send the picture to helperhelper@lpsfrisco.net. This is a temporary change in the process while our regular coordinator for this drive is on maternity leave.

REMINDERS

· Please make sure your student has an accessible account! If they do not, then please have them email helperhelper@lpsfrisco.net with the grade they are in, along with their first and last names.

· Students need to submit their service hours within two weeks of the service date.

· Coordinator information should be reflective of the non-profit organization for which your student served. Emails from a non-organizational domain (such as aol, yahoo, gmail, Hotmail, sbcglobal, etc.) are not valid without additional supporting records.

Starting in the 2024 - 2025 school year, incoming freshman will be able to apply to be part of the Lions Collegiate Academy where they will be able to graduate with an Associate's Degree by the time they graduate high school.
