Parents and Friends of BSE,

We are approaching the last quarter of a monumental school year, and with reflection, we pause to recognize how LUCKY we are in this month of March to have opportunities to be inside our school building each day to learn and grow. Today, we shared in a small moment with our Online Lion students in grade 3, as they took part in our first phase of standardized testing, and we realized how much we truly miss being all together! In the meantime, we keep working towards our goals with both in-person and online classes. We have been proud of our start to IREAD-3, with student attendance at 98% and above over the course of the last three days. Our third graders have focused like superstars during testing! Our next benchmark will be in mid-April with the start of ILEARN testing for grades 3-5, and we look forward to seeing our students show up to impress once again.

Monday Matters

Each Monday, we highlight BSE students who represent our monthly theme. This month's theme centers around resiliency and our students ability to bounce back and adapt quickly. Students nominated by teachers are entered into a drawing to win a Salem sweatshirt provided by Mosier Chiropractic and Linck's. Congratulations to this week's winners: Chloie Collins, Gavin Durham, Nathan Baumgardener, Malachi Strother, Jenah McNeely, and Hannah Bhula. We are proud of you!

2nd Grade Earns Over $60 in Free Pizza

Mrs. Irwin's and Mrs.Jerrell's class show off the rewards for their students' efforts. Students achieving benchmarks through their MobyMax program have earned over $60 in free pizza coupons to celebrate together as a class!

Mrs. Rowe's class shows the detail work of a "mentor sentence" becoming a high-quality example with the practice of grammar and writing.
