The IMS Connection
Volume 16, Issue 8: APRIL 2020
Greetings from Islip Middle school,
While this newsletter finds you at home, we want to remind you that the Islip Middle School teaching and learning community is here for you. Although this current situation is surreal by all accounts, our team is united in sharing positive thoughts and extending well wishes. As this virus continues to spread, our main focus is on the health and safety of the children, families, community and greater Islip Team.
Our Islip Middle School Teaching and Learning community wanted to share positive thoughts with you. I hope you enjoy this uplifting video created by our very own Mr. Cohen.
Please do not hesitate to reach out to us, no matter what the need.
Extending you healthy wishes,
Dr. Martin
Greetings Islip Middle School,
While this newsletter finds us all in a very different world than we were just a mere three weeks ago the Islip community is strong, and I have no doubt will remain united.
Normally, in this newsletter I would talk about the successful completion of the NYS ELA exam and the preparations for our NYS Math exam; as we know, NYS has suspended all of the grades 3-8 state exams. Moving forward, all school districts are awaiting guidance from NYS on Regents exams and end of year testing. As we wait for guidance you will note that our included newsletter calendars remain intact. This is being done to preserve the schedule for our return to school. Not knowing when this may be, calendar events will be moved/ adjusted based on event importance and or adherence to state guidelines. Amidst all of the chaos, please know we are here to support your children in any way we can.
On a closing note, I would like to thank all of the essential workers who are selflessly and tirelessly working to get us through this global pandemic, for that we are forever grateful.
Remember…Family above all else!
Health and well wishes,
Mr. Cohen
