PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
7 more wakeups!
Excitement is building all around JMMS as the upcoming winter break continues to creep up, but we’ve been as busy as ever at JMMS. Last week the 7th graders attended JMMS’ first Finance Park field trip. Our annual skating night at Viejas was held last Thursday. JMMS actors and actresses are in their final rehearsals for next week’s winter theater performance.
We are still buzzing over yet another victory, last Sunday, for the JMMS robotics team, the Dumpster Diver Candy Eaters.
As we approach our much anticipated, and well deserved break, I hope everyone takes a little time to recharge and refocus. When we return we will be almost mid way through the 2nd trimester. It is the perfect time to reflect on your past year, and your personal growth and academic goals. Take time to recharge so we are all ready to tackle the new year successfully.
Enjoy this latest edition of the Dust Devil Weekly.
Sighted on and off Campus this past week...

Many of them discovered how much things really cost in the real world and were shocked!

JMMS Performing Arts Presents: North Pole's Got Talent!
We are excited to announce that the JMMS Performing Arts Program is back and will present it's Winter Production "North Pole's Got Talent" on Thursday, December 14th at 7pm in the JMMS Gym. The students have been rehearsing for months and cannot wait to perform for families and friends. Tickets are $5 at the door (suggested donation) and light refreshments will also be sold. Please come out and support this wonderful program, the students and the arts!
TAKE A CLOSER LOOK: Focus on Kindness
I believe it was Major Frank Burns, on the old TV show M*A*S*H, who said, “It’s nice to be nice.”
At Joan MacQueen we get to witness acts of kindness every day. At the recent dodgeball tournament we saw teammates cheering one another after successes and failures. We saw amazing kindness as teams encouraged one another despite their competition. We see students assisting Mr. Larry at lunch by cleaning up trash around the cafeteria. We see students carrying one another’s belongings when needed.
As we turn into the holiday season, no matter what your traditions are, surely, kindness is an important part of them. The upcoming break will be the perfect time to perform acts of kindness, and reflect on how we can bring even more kindness to our school. After all, I don’t think there is such a thing as too much kindness.
As we return to school in the new year, let us all do our part to bring more kindness to JMMS. We could always use it.
