Welcome to the Manning High School Student Newsletter! The purpose of this newsletter is to keep Clarendon County up-to-date with our events and to uplift our school. Thanks for reading!

Welcome back to a new school year, everyone!

The title of "Teacher of the Week" is particularly special because this instructor will be selected by the student body of Manning High School each week. Congratulations!!

Mr. Tebit is a phenomenal teacher! He enjoys being a teacher because he is able to transform lives and make a difference in the community. He has been teaching for 20 years, and during his time in Cameroon, he attended the University of Bamenda. During his time in the United States, he attended Walden University.

Mr. Tebit's inspiration is Martin Luther King Jr..

Congratulations to Mr. Tebit! We appreciate all that you do!

Students of the Week are selected by teachers at Manning High School. Teachers are asked to nominate students who display a combination of exemplary behavior, academic participation, respect for peers and faculty/staff, good citizenship, and general improvement.

On August 18, we finally got to have our first pep rally!! The seniors rushed the court, led by Senior Class President, Parah Anderson, in the mascot suit. With an excellent JROTC drill routine and a cupcake eating contest sponsored by Student Council, we were all ready to celebrate the new year! The fall sports teams were introduced, the band performed and impressed us all, and the cheerleaders, danceline, and colorguard all put on a great show.

Do you like figuring out how things work? Do you enjoy solving puzzles? Do you like math and science? A career in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math gives you the opportunity to solve complex problems in order to improve society. Workers in this Career Cluster work in labs, corporations, and in the field. They study diseases, do scientific research, develop new technologies, oversee construction projects, and more. We consider this Career Cluster if you excel in advanced math and science, have good problem-solving skills, good with details, and enjoy working with computers. Some career opportunities that involve STEM are aerospace engineers, biologists, chemists, environmental scientists, and many more. Some related college majors that also involve STEM are bio-engineering, civil engineering, electrical engineering, and many more. To see if this is a Career Cluster you might enjoy, you can participate in a science fair, join a math or science club, participate in a STEM camp, or learn new computer applications. Consider joining STEM today!
