Myths
ADHD is the parents fault: FALSE. It’s all brain chemistry, and it’s even said that if parents were to be strict with children who have ADHD, it would only make things worse, not better. It’s recommended to seek professional help instead.
People who have ADHD never amount to anything because of laziness and stupidness: FALSE: Recent study shows that people with ADHD are above average intelligence rate, and many famous people with ADHD are able to prove that wrong like, Abraham Lincoln, Mozart, and Benjamin Franklin.
Only hyper kids have ADHD: FALSE. Although hyperactivity is most common when it comes to ADHD, calmer, quieter people can also be diagnosed, which unfortunately makes it harder to notice.
Kids can outgrow ADHD: FALSE. If a child with ADHD gets left untreated, it will go on into adulthood, but again, they can still become successful adults as long as they’re on top with medication when necessary, developing their strengths and environment.
