We are nearing the end of an amazing school year! Grade levels have several fun activities planned so be on the lookout for communication from teachers. As a reminder, school will be closed on Monday May 29th for Memorial Day.

Library Books
All library books are due to the library by Thursday, June 1st. Students with missing books will bring home a form indicating book titles and prices of missing books. Families can pay for missing books online using the Online School Payment system, by sending in cash or a check made out to Byrd Elementary School, OR you can order a replacement book online to send to school.
Bulldogs Track & Field Camp
GHS is hosting a track and field camp on June 8th and 9th from 1-4 PM. The camp is available for rising 6th through rising 9th graders. See the flyer below for more information.
Feed More's Mobile Market
Check out where the bus is this week! There is no cost to shop. Children must accompany an adult in order to shop the bus. The market bus will remain on site for approximately one hour. Families are also welcome to shop the bus at the other sites as well.
Go Nutz For Reading
If your child turned in a completed bookmark for the Go Nutz for Reading program, then this week they will bring home a ticket and a flyer with more information about the game on Wednesday, May 31st . You can see the informational flyer students will bring home here. Gates open at 5:30 and the game starts at 6:35! The optional on field parade will start around 5:45. Families can purchase additional tickets to the game for $10 using the link below. Tickets are selling fast, as there are 17 other schools attending the evening. Ticket sales are a fundraiser for our school, and each ticket purchased benefits Byrd Elementary reading programs - so invite your family and friends to join us for a great night out at the ball field!
GCPS Intersessions
Registration for the Goochland County Public Schools June intersession is now open until Friday, May 26! An intersession is an opt-in, multi-day learning experience that combines literacy, research, creativity, and fun with no cost to families. Each intersession will provide a unique learning opportunity that merges student interest and teacher passion. From Cooking with STEM to Game Design, students will have the chance to explore a wide range of topics.
Intersession will run Tuesday-Friday, June 20-23 from 8:00 - 2:30 at Goochland Elementary School (elementary sessions) and 9:00 - 3:30 at the Secondary Complex (secondary sessions). GCPS will provide student transportation to and from designated stops across the county at no cost and breakfast and lunch for purchase. Transportation will only be provided at the beginning and end of a full day of intersessions. Students attending a half day intersession will need to make arrangements for mid-day transportation.
Registration is based on the student’s current grade level (2022-23 school year). Please understand that availability of these sessions is contingent on enrollment numbers. Sessions may not be offered if enrollment is low, so we encourage all to register soon! In the event that a course reaches student capacity, students will be added to a waitlist automatically.

Reminders
Please email beseagles@glnd.k12.va.us for transportation changes. All transportation changes need to be in by 12:00 PM.
- If you need to pick up your student in the office, please do so before 2pm. Pickup after 2pm should be done through the car rider line.
Any shared food items brought in for class parties must have an ingredient label.
