THE COVID-19 VACCINE BUS
Haskin Elementary Physical Education
Haskin Elementary PE
Greetings, from Haskin Elementary PE,
We have made it to the last 9 weeks, and ready to engage in some physical activity outdoors and indoors.
I am excited to have a student teacher this last quarter. Mr. Kade Harrop is an Adams State University student doing his last semester, before becoming a Physical Education teacher. We are fortunate to have ties with ASU to make this posable. We are just finishing 4 square activities and will do tumbling, stunts and gymnastics. We will do a mini track session in PE also. We will also be collecting data for UNC assessments.
We will continue to working with Northern Colorado Physical Education Department, and the grant we are currently involved with. Please continue to support your student(s) in being involved in physical activities. Parks and recreation is a great way to be involved. If you have any concerns or questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us.
Best Regards,
Joe M. Garcia

I have a few announcements:
We just came back from Spring Break and we a very happy to see everyone back rested and ready to end the school year with a bang!
I have a few announcements:
*As we near the end of the year regular attendance is critical. We are working hard to get all standards taught and to have students prepared for next year. Students in grades 3-5 will be taking state assessments this month. Please schedule all appointments when students are not testing.
*Please read with your child for 20 minutes each evening. This helps your child’s vocabulary to grow and expand.
*We have seen academic growth and are very excited for our students. Keep up the good work!
*The COVID mask mandate has expired, but children are still encourage to wear them in class.
How to help your student get ready for testing:
Talk to your student about testing. Reduce your child’s anxiety about the test by reminding them it is just one measure of learning and another way of finding out their strengths and weaknesses.
Make sure that your child is well-rested and gets enough sleep the night before testing. Students should eat a high protein, low sugar/carb breakfast: Children who are tired, hungry, or have too much sugar and carbs are less able to concentrate.

Dear Haskin Elementary School parent;
Dear Haskin Elementary School parent;
Our school is participating in a school climate survey conducted by the Center for the Study and Prevention of Violence (CSPV) at the University of Colorado. The purpose of this survey is to identify the strengths and needs of our school regarding school safety and violence prevention. The results will help us identify areas needing improvement and develop strategies to address those needs. In addition to surveying the students, we want to gain the perspective of all parents and guardians who have children who attend our school.
The survey is anonymous and is taken through a secure online server. Your participation is completely voluntary. The survey can be completed in approximately 15 minutes. Only one survey per family needs to be completed. Our goal is that at least 80% of households complete the survey. Response rates below 80% cannot be considered representative of the total population of parents and guardians.
It is very important that once you log in to the survey that you complete it in one sitting. Logging out of the survey will end the session, and you will not be able to log back in to the same survey in order to complete it.
To participate in the survey, go to the following link:
https://www.safe-schools.org/school-climate/parent/?b=682699-59261
If you do not have access to a computer to complete the survey, please let me know and we will make arrangements to give you access to one of the school’s computers. If you need to take the survey in Spanish, you will see links in the upper right hand corner of the survey page for both English and Spanish.
You will have approximately two weeks to complete the survey. After all the data has been collected, researchers at CSPV will analyze the data and issue a summary report.
Thank you for your participation in this important survey!
Sincerely,
Jared Morgan
