News From The Elementary Office February 2024
A Note from the Elementary Office
Hello, Parents and Families!
We are excited to offer a way to give back to Adams Central Elementary School! On 1/29/2024, we will kick off an event to help raise funds to benefit all our students and staff. Our Next Level program will help with funding expansion to our elementary rock wall project, a book vending machine, and recess/PE resources.
It is going to be AWESOME; we are excited to get started!
A few things to note:
This program will be extremely easy for you. It only requires about 10 minutes of your time.
Your students can earn great rewards, just for their effort. No money required!
This is an online, donation-based fundraiser, and the email and text message donation requests can go to people you know anywhere in the world. That means no direct pressure on your shoulders.
Students will bring home more information after our Launch Party Presentation later next week.
Please help your student register and complete the Golden Ticket assignment MONDAY night!
All students who complete the Golden Ticket assignment will receive fun PRIZES, and it does not require any money to register.
We will also have awesome drawings for an Amazon Gift Card and Mini-Party Fridges stuffed with CASH or PRIZES!
I will be sending more messages throughout the two-week program. Thank you in advance for your support and the support of our PTO. This video shows the Day of Awesomeness for students fundraising efforts. https://www.pop4kids.org/video/best-day-ever
Please contact me directly if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Mrs. McCullough
2024-2025 KINDERGARTEN ROUND UP AND SCREENING
Kindergarten Round Up will be held Feb 26 - March 1. During this time, families need to stop by the Elementary Office to pick up Kindergarten Packets and schedule their kindergartener's screening for Friday, April 12.
DISMISSAL COMMUNICATION
- Parents must contact the office when dismissal plans change from the normal routine.
- Those hosting parties after school need to notify the office in advance with names of those attending and how they will be leaving school on the day of the party. Ensure that the classroom teachers are also aware.
A NOTE FROM THE NURSE'S CLINIC
When winter approaches, many parents become concerned about their child’s possibility of getting head lice. Although head lice can be contracted any time of the year, cold weather offers more ways of getting lice. In efforts to try and prevent the spread of lice I would like to remind you of a few facts. Lice spreads by direct contact with a person who has lice by sharing brushes, combs, hats, scarves, bed sheets, blankets, and pillows. Lice do not jump or fly; they only crawl. Animals do not spread human lice. Please remind your child not to share their brushes, combs, hats, etc.
If you notice your child is scratching their head a lot please check for lice or notify myself or their teacher and I will check them. If you find lice please provide treatment to kill the lice. Also, I have information on treatment of lice and the treatment of the home available. Prevention is the key.
COUNSELORS' CORNER
We would like to take this opportunity to thank our families for their acknowledgment and appreciation shown during the evacuation and reunification that happened on January 8, 2024. Please note that our teaching staff took the time on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, to have a community circle in their classrooms to debrief the situation and discuss their feelings or emotions during this time. After the classroom debriefing, we along with Mr. Reily and Mrs. McCullough went to each classroom to let the students know we were available for any needs or questions they had. Our students handled themselves so well and did such a great job. We applaud our families for having such great children!
Please do not hesitate to contact us if your child is in need of further support. We truly appreciate you for allowing us the privilege to work with your child!
