We Sure Are FONDue of our Teachers!
We are so very FONDue of our teachers and staff here at Blair Oaks! We want to thank them for all that they do by treating them to chocolate AND cheese fondue! Home and School is organizing a Fun Fondue Day to show our appreciation and we would like to ask for donations to help make these event a success. If you are able, use the link below to volunteer for an item to bring in (there are slots for the Elementary and Intermediate). Please have items brought to the office the morning of January 29.
Falcon Fellas Hoopin' it Up
Home & School would like to invite our Falcon Fellas (boys in grades K-5) and a female role model of their choice to a night of basketball. This is a chance for these boys to get on the court with their favorite ladies and show off their skills. Games will be Thursday, February 15 at 5:00pm and all games will be played in the BIS gymnasium. More information regarding game times and brackets will be shared closer to the date. If you really want to show some spirit, Hoopin' it Up shirts are on sale now so you can "suit up" for the game! If you plan to participate, please make sure to fill out the signup form below!
iReady Reports
For anyone seeking additional information regarding progress or with specific questions, please reach out to Mrs. Burns or Ms. Davis (our reading specialist) and we will be happy to help you!
Celebrating successes: We will be celebrating the particularly exceptional growth of a few grade levels. 5th grade students grew the most in math and 4th grade students grew the most in reading. Stay tuned for details to see how they choose to celebrate!
5th Grade D.A.R.E
5th grade students started D.A.R.E. classes this week, taught by our very own Officer Brown. They will have D.A.R.E days on Tuesdays during their social studies classes. Upon completion of the program, our 5th graders will become D.A.R.E graduates and we will invite you to recognize their accomplishment. More information will be shared at a later date.
Yearbook Sales Starting Soon!
Information regarding yearbook orders came home today. All orders will be done online again this year. Keep an eye out for the links in next week's newsletters and fliers in your student's folder!
Weather Planning
AMI Packets: Each student has an AMI (Alternative Method of Instruction) packet in the back sleeve of their take-home folder. Please DO NOT REMOVE THIS PACKET unless instructed to do so by Mrs. Burns or your child's teacher. We may use this packet in the event of an unexpected closure. If we have to cancel school and it is a traditional snow day the AMI packet will not need to be completed. Again, your child's teacher or Mrs. Burns will direct you as to when it is necessary to complete the AMI packet. Please do not hesitate to reach out to your child's teacher should you have any questions.
