Around the School Spotlight

Our Kindergarten Dual Language Immersion class was setting routines and expectations for Community Circles on Day 1. They did a great job of listening to one another and sharing their ideas!

Back to School Night

Our Back to School Night will be held on Thursday, September 21st from 6-7:30pm. A video was sent out to families yesterday, but you can view it here.

We are trying a new format this year, which we’re excited about! Students and parents/guardians can visit classrooms and specialists (in Gym 1) anytime between 6:00-6:45. While in classrooms, teachers will have a variety of activities/things to do or see that showcase that specific grade level. At 6:45, a picnic style dinner will be served in the cafeteria for families and staff to eat and visit. Thank you to Journey Church for donating the meals!

Picture Day is Coming!

Dorian Studio will be here on Tuesday, September 26th to take student pictures. Please see the flyer for more information on ordering, and a few helpful tips to make picture day great. Picture envelopes will be coming home via backpack mail next week.

PAC News

We had our Fun Run Assembly today! Our kids were SO excited to learn about the fun prizes in store for them. Each and every donation counts and it will take all of us working together to make a big impact. Our Fun Run is our only school fundraiser during the year and the money raised supports so many opportunities for our kids! Please check Friday folders for more information. The Fun Run is on Friday, September 29th.

Dinner Night Out @ Chipotle

Join us Wednesday, September 20th, 4:00-8:00pm at Sherwood Chipotle. 33% of event sales will be donated back to Hawks View PAC when you show the flyer! Click here for more information, including the online ordering code.

District Calendar Update

This year, all Sherwood elementary schools will have three half days for students. Two of these days will be for teacher professional development, and the third will be for the last day of school.

The release time for all three half days will be 11 am. No lunch will be served on those days. Earlier in the year we sent district messaging that the release time would be 11:15 am on these days, so we wanted to share this update right away so families can plan accordingly.

Our three days that will end at 11 am are:

November 1st

April 10th

June 12th

This information will be updated on the district calendar soon, and reminders will be sent to families as each day gets closer.

Student Services Parent Partnership Meeting - September 27

SAVE THE DATE! The Student Services Department will be hosting their first Parent Partnership meeting of the academic year on Wednesday, September 27th from 7:00-8:30pm at the District Office.
