First Grade News

Thank you so much to all the families who came to Back To School Night! We love meeting all of you and seeing the smiling faces of the littles who were super excited to show their classroom to you!

LANGUAGE ARTS

• Building our reading stamina

MATH

• Five group patterns

• Addition using number bonds

• Addition clue: "more"

SOCIAL

• Using appropriate voice levels
• Listening the first time
• Hands to self!

• Read every day!
• Practice three ways to read: read the pictures, read the words, retell the story.
• Find things that come in groups of 5 or 10.
  
• Practice voice levels - whisper voice, regular/inside voice, outside voice.
• Work on fine motor skills. Ex. coloring, handwriting, cutting, etc.

All Wednesdays are minimum days with dismissal at 1:20pm.
