Adventures from this Week
DES One School, One Book Summer Adventure Information
Hello DES Adventurers,
Our school adventure is coming to an end this year but our summer adventure is about to start. Humphrey and the gang are embarking on their summer adventure and we are too. DES is committed to keeping learning and adventure alive over the summer. Purchase the Summer According to Humphrey book and join us with page-turning adventures to fill your summer with fun.
You may purchase your book through myschoolbucks for $7.00, send in cash or pay by check. We will order your book, and get your summer Adventure Pack ready for disbursement. The first stamp on your Adventure Pack will be to pick up your materials and let the summer fun begin.
As a school, we will read two chapters a week, answer some questions, and have suggested family adventures that will go along with the book for you and your adventurers to complete.
If you are ready to join this next adventure please complete the bottom portion of this letter and return it to your child’s teacher by May 26, 2023. Questions can be directed to Jenn Mangum (mangum.jennifer@ccpsstaff.com or 410-479-1660)
SAFETY IN OUR BUS LANE
Parents/Guardians should utilize the car-rider line as the primary drop-off. If for some reason you are unable to use the car-rider line, you should park in the middle parking spaces-NOT THE BUS LANE parking spaces. Students should not be allowed to walk or run across the bus lane, parents/guardians must accompany them for safety reasons.
Thank you for your support in keeping our dolphins safe!

We are so excited for our Grand Friends day event on 5/26/23, from 9:30-3:00pm. We want our guests to enjoy the school day with their students. In order to make the day run smoothly, please be aware of the following guidelines.
ALL visitors arriving between 9:30-10:30 will sign in at the Cafeteria. Please use the cafeteria doors to enter the building and get checked in during this time frame.
IF YOU ARRIVE AFTER 10:30 AM YOU WILL SIGN IN AT THE FRONT LOBBY WINDOW. Be prepared to show your i.d if you have not already done so.
Pre-school/infant and/or school-aged siblings are not to attend the event as we have limited room.
Grand-Friends will sit in a designated area in the classroom that the teacher has arranged.
Confidentiality is important and the privacy of all students must be respected. Please do not discuss students or take photographs/videos of other students.
Visitors should only attend in classrooms where they have a student.
Maps will be provided if needed and we will have 5th-grade tour guides to support Grand-Friends in finding the important areas (classroom, VIP room, lunch, photo-opportunities area and bathrooms).
Lunch is provided for GRAND-FRIENDS by our PTA.
Student schedules, agendas, and maps will also be available upon arrival.
