TCE Families,

It is time to nominate candidates for the PTO executive board vacancies. For the 2022-2023 school year, the two vacancies are President and Operating Treasurer. Please see below for descriptions of each role.

PRESIDENT shall preside at all meetings of the Organization and of the Executive Board, at which she/he may be present. She/he shall coordinate with the officers and committees of the Organization in order that the objectives may be promoted. She/he will represent the PTO at monthly PTO Presidents’ meetings held by the CISD School Board. She/he will vote only to break a tie vote. She/he shall be authorized to sign checks in the absence of the Treasurer and Classroom Fund Coordinator. She/he must have served on the PTO for at least one year before assuming this office. The President shall hold office for two consecutive years, and will not serve additional consecutive years.

OPERATING TREASURER will serve for two years, and will not serve for additional consecutive years. She/he will manage the Operating Budget and shall be responsible for general bookkeeping, deposits, withdrawals, and issuing checks. The treasurer of the Operating Budget will also be responsible for coordinating the handling of money for major fundraisers. She/he shall present a financial statement, including administrative expense detail, at every meeting of the Board and a final statement at the first meeting of the following year. She/he is responsible for filings.

The nominating committee would like to solicit nominations from PTO members. As part of the process, the nominating committee will choose a person per position to submit to the executive board for a vote.

Another volunteer opportunity within the PTO is the role of Auditor. We are looking for a volunteer to complete an audit of the 2021-2022 room parent and general accounts during the month of September to be presented to the executive board. This role typically would not take more than 6-8 hours and can be completed over an entire month. A CISD tradition returns with Coppell ISD Night at The Ballpark on Friday, April 29, as the Texas Rangers take on the World Series Champions Atlanta Braves at Globe Life Park in Arlington at 7:05 p.m. New this year's seats will be located in one CISD area instead of individual school sections. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased at go.coppellisd.com/22BallparkNight.

The Coppell ISD Education Foundation invites you to join us for our 10th Annual Run to Fund taking place on Saturday, May 7 at Andy Brown East. The event includes a 5K, a one-mile fun run, and a sleep-in option. Remember, $2 from every Run to Fund race entry will be contributed to the PE Department of the school of your choice. A big thank you to our families for communicating positive student Covid cases to us. In order to help streamline the communication process for both families and our campus nurse, please fill out the following Google Form if your child receives a positive Covid-19 test. Once our nurse has received the form from a family, she will reach out to them during school hours to discuss a return date to school and any questions they may have.
