IOWA-GRANT'S PANTHER PRESS
DECEMBER 2021/IGSD NEWSLETTER
DISTRICT OFFICE
Happy December
It is hard to believe we are nearing the end of 2021. We have celebrated successes and shared efforts to keep Iowa-Grant School District moving forward. We will continue to focus on our students and learning opportunities in 2022. We hope to resume some of the missed moments and treasured times that were taken away. We hope to participate in concerts, tournaments, family vacations and graduations this year. Most importantly, we hope our Panthers and families are healthy and happy through the holidays and 2022.
Please welcome Mrs. Michele Wetter as our new Social Emotional Learning (SEL) Mental Health Coordinator. Today is her first day and we are excited for the support and learning opportunities that she can offer our students, families and staff. Let's send a proud Panther shout out to the students and staff members at IGEMS (and our freshmen) who achieved 5-star status. We applaud your ability to conquer challenges and succeed in the midst of a pandemic. Congratulations to the Iowa-Grant School District for ranking #1 in the SWAL Conference on the State Report Card. You are all amazing and we are so proud.
On behalf of our Panthers, I want to thank everyone who supports our district, in good times and in bad. Great things happen when we work together and support each other.
Have a Happy December,
Robyn
The Iowa-Grant High School Student Council collects old cell phones which are turned in, recycled, and kept out of landfills. If you have old phones, chargers, etc. at home, please bring them in or send them to Mr. Boland at the high school. We will take care of getting rid of them properly.
The Iowa-Grant LEO Club collects old pairs of eyeglasses (kids, adults, frames, lenses, etc.). They are recycled through Lions Clubs International and sent all over the world to be refitted and used again by people in need of glasses. Please send your old pairs to Mr. Boland at the high school if you want to get rid of old pairs.
Thanks, everyone for your help with these projects!!

Introducing the IG High Helping Hands Program
Join Forensics! It's Not Too Late!
It's not too late to join Forensics! Were you a member of an I-G Forensics team in the past? Did you always wish you had the courage to join, but never did?
Perhaps you can help us recruit more students to get involved and improve their communication skills by sharing your experiences with your child. No experience is necessary!
Mrs. Rolli and Mrs. Richmond are excited to get started on another season of Forensics. We welcome back multiple medal winning performers, but we have more spots available.
Contact Mrs. Rolli for more information!
Congratulations Coach Krentz
Congratulations to the new Iowa-Grant boys Varsity Basketball Coach, Nolan Krentz, for getting his first career win against. Argyle on November 23rd.
I-G nation hopes there are many more to come!

It’s Never Too Late
Thanksgiving was a week ago, leftovers are gone or have lost their appeal, and most people have turned their attention to the upcoming holidays. However, I’m using this space to express my gratitude. It’s never too late to tell someone, “Thank you.”
To our school board members, thank you for the countless hours you invest in our school district. You have a very important and often “thankless” role in the education of our students.
To our district office staff and school office staff, thank you for your “behind the scenes” work. Each of you has a unique position and you are all excellent at what you do. You get very little credit for “making things run smoothly in our schools.”
To our maintenance, building & grounds, and custodial staff, thank you for keeping our school and campus safe, clean, and a place we are proud to call our “home away from home.”
To our food service staff, thank you for working tirelessly and creatively to provide healthy and appetizing meals for our students. Your service with a smile makes your food taste even better!
To the WARCO staff, thank you for transporting our students safely to and from school each day. Your genuine care and concern for our students is appreciated.
To the IGEMS Foster Grandparents, thank you for listening to our students read, helping them with their school work, and lending a hand where it’s needed.
To our information systems director and technician, thank you. The technology we have in our school district is top-notch and we have the good fortune to use it because of you.
To our Parent/Teacher Club, thank you for the many “extras” you provide for students. Whether it’s helping to fund a field trip or purchasing sleds for recess, we know we can count on your support.
To the counselors, coaches, teachers, specialists, interventionists, therapists, assistants, and substitute teachers, thank you all for making a difference in the lives of our students. Your commitment to their personal well-being as well as to their academic success is what makes our school so special.
Finally, thank you to the children and their families whom we partner with each day. You are why we are here and why we choose to do what we do.
Proud to be a Panther,
Mrs. Bast

Annual Iowa-Grant Toy Drive!
Celebrate the season of giving by sharing your new or gently used toys (please no stuffed animals!) and books with the families of the Iowa-Grant School District! If your child has outgrown a toy or that toy they had to have last year has been sitting on the shelf for the last 6 months, now is the time to send it to a new home where it can be loved by another child! Toys and books can be dropped off at IGEMS from November 29th through December 10th. We will also be accepting monetary donations to fill wish lists for our families. If you are interested in sending in a monetary donation please make checks out to the Iowa-Grant School District and mark the envelope Toy Drive.
Any toys and books collected will be made available to families in the district who struggle financially to provide for their families during the holiday season.
Families who are in need of a Santa Sack can contact Darcy Breuer at dbreuer@igs.k12.wi.us to sign up your family. Please include the following things in the email: your name and the best way to contact you, child(ren)’s age and gender, and a wish list of 2-3 items for each child.
Staff members will make up a “Santa sack” for your family and you will be notified when your sack is ready to pick up at the school.
If you have any questions please contact Darcy Breuer at dbreuer@igs.k12.wi.us
Thank you for your generosity and for helping us bring the Christmas spirit to our community!
