Uplift Hampton Preparatory H.S.
Senior Updates (Week of March 23-27)
A Word from the Director
I've asked our staff, as I will also ask each and every one of you, to remain patient, flexible, and understanding as we continue to get updates throughout this time period. Consequently, I've asked our staff to establish plans on a weekly basis, in case we need to prepare for any changes locally or nationally to our instructional expectations as a high school campus. After all, as we have seen over the past week, things can dramatically change from day to day. To avoid an overabundance of communication, I am asking Kendra Langley, the dean over the 11th/12th grade scholars on our campus, to collect all coursework to be submitted in this weekly updated memo; however, please feel free to reach out to any teacher and administrator, if and as needed.
At this point, there remain many unanswered questions during our indefinite closure due to the Covid-19 pandemic. When will we return? What will happen to graduation, prom, grades, testing, etc.? Please feel free to visit our network website at https://www.uplifteducation.org to review the most updated information for Uplift Education. It is with such questions that Our campus and network will continue to update you regarding any information associated with the general needs of the campus.
Below, throughout this memo, I am including the general assignment and work associated with each of your scholar's respective teachers. We hope that you can help ensure our scholars remain actively engaged in their education, and if you or your scholar is in need of any additional information, please do not hesitate to reach out to a member of our team.
I believe, during this time of turmoil and uncertainty, each and every member of our Hampton "village," scholars, staff, parents, members of the community, etc. can embody the mascot that we proudly claim for our school. The phoenix, a mythological bird of remarkable uniqueness, rises from the ashes, renewed, ready to take on the next challenge of life. So, too, we know that Hampton will be prepared for our next challenge.
Rising Together,
Jeremy L. Green

Testing Updates
We continue to get weekly updates in association with each of our state and national testing assessments: STAAR/EOC, ACT, Advanced Placement (AP), International Baccalaureate (IB)/Diploma Program (DP), etc.
Please expect an update regarding assessments with next week's memo.

- Please check my Google Classroom for the new assignment titled: List of Artworks Additional Information. It has a file for you to work on and a PowerPoint with instructions and an example.
- You will be giving information only about the artworks in your exhibition. If you started this documentation on another file, copy and paste the information onto this file because it has the proper formatting.

DP Film- Mr. Sutton

- This week, I have posted a Short Film - Portfolio project in the Google classroom. This project will help you in your continued pursuit of finishing the DP program, as you guys are still finishing up your film portfolios. Moving forward, I will be posting something every other Wednesday. For those that have yet to finish recording the Comparative Studies, please make time to finish that portion.
- Also, please stay safe in the midst of pursuing this accomplishment (DP Diploma). Please do not put yourself in harms way to make a short film, whether that be physical harm or mental harm. Your safety is more important to me than finishing!
