Did you know...
In the MPSD, we have close to 900 students with chronic health conditions! This includes but is not limited to asthma, diabetes, epilepsy and cardiac conditions.
Health Vision is an Important Part of Learning!
School-wide vision screenings for Early Childhood - 8th grade were conducted over the past few weeks... 2950 students in total! Close to 20 percent of those students did not pass the vision screening. If your child was one who did not pass, you should have received a referral letter in the mail with recommended next steps. Please contact your child's school nurse if you have any questions.
Student illness
Students should be kept home from school when not feeling well. Examples of situations in which students should stay home from school include (but are not limited to): vomiting, diarrhea, fever >100.4 and uncontrollable coughing that will be disruptive to the learning environment. Please be sure to call the school attendance line when your child will be absent. It is also important that emergency contact numbers on file at school are up to date in the event your child becomes ill at school.
