Changing Dismissal?
Parents if you are doing a dismissal change after 12:00 PM, to ensure your student gets where they need to be after school, please call the office instead of emailing. Emails can occasionally get missed. Calling the office guarantees we will get the dismissal change.
ALL dismissal changes must be made prior to 3:00pm. The Amerman office gets very busy with the dismissal process after 3:00 PM. We appreciate you support!

Walk or Roll to School Day
International Walk or Roll to School Day is a global event that involves communities from more than 40 countries walking and biking to school on the same day. It began in 1997 as a one-day event. Over time, this event has become part of a movement for year-round safe routes to school and a celebration – with record breaking participation – each October. Today, thousands of schools across America – from all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico – participate every October.
Amerman is registered to participate and we encourage those of you that can to walk (or bike) to school on Wednesday, October 5!

- Invest in Your Child. This is our main fundraiser for the year and gets you out of selling pizza kits. Tip: Bundle with a PTA membership and save a step!
- Join a classroom hub. This puts you in our online directory so you can stay in contact with other families and get PTA updates. (Must be a PTA member to access the directory).
- Sign up for passive fundraisers. Raise money just by shopping as usual!
Fun Run
Two weeks to go and the PTA Race for Recess has reached 24% of its fundraising goal! Be sure to share your student's fundraising page with family and friends far and wide. Donating is simple! Each Class has a Team Name. Simply search by Team Name or by the students first name and last initial. Students will also have individual web pages. To do this simply click on the “Navigate” button, search for your student again with first name and last initial. Your student’s name will show up with a link to their own Fundraising page. Simply copy the link and share with friends and families or even social media.
Invest In Your Child
The PTA has shared a welcome packet with your Bobcat this week. Please look for the letter, the Invest In Your Child (IIYC) flyer and other important info including a Year-At-A-Glance poster. We encourage families to participate in the IIYC program to help enrich our students’ learning experiences.
Our PTA is also planning to giveaway Amerman Cinch bags to all participating families, while supplies last.

Infectious Disease Response to COVID 2022-23
Students and staff that contract COVID should follow the Health Department recommendations and isolate for five days from the date where symptoms were present or from the date of their positive rapid or PCR test. Isolation includes waiting to return to school until the isolation period has ended. It is also recommended that students or staff should wear a mask for 5 days past their isolation period. See MDHHS Graphic below.
Parents should notify their child’s school of the absence reason so that teachers are aware of the student's absence period and our nurses can follow the health department’s infectious disease requirements. NPS School Nurses are available should you have any questions.

hot lunch program for interested students
Families must preorder lunches for preschools and elementary students. Orders must be in by 8:30 AM for elementary students to receive a lunch that day. The system will not allow you to order after the time listed above. For your convenience, meals can be preordered up to 30 days in advance. Leader in Me October Focus: Habit 1 - Be Proactive
Habit 1 – Be Proactive – “I’m in Charge of Me”
What this means: Take charge of your own life. Make it happen. Don't wait for someone else to do it.
“I am responsible for me.”
“I do the right thing before I am asked.”
“I do the right thing even when no one is looking.”
“I do not blame others for my actions.”
How can I do this in my life?
1. If you do something wrong, say you are sorry before someone asks you to apologize.
2. When you get mad and want to say something, stop, think, and ask yourself-
Why am I getting so angry? Make a good choice in a good way.
Great Books for Habit #1- Be Proactive
- The Dot by Peter H. Reynolds
- Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day by Judith Viorst
- Because of Winn Dixie by Kate DiCamillo
- The Little Engine that Could by Watty Piper
- Amazing Grace by Mary Hoffman
- Spaghetti in a Hot Dog Bun by Maria Dismondy
