Welcome to McClure Elementary

This week we will wrap up the first semester of the 23-24 school year! We are looking forward to a great week with our Marshals.

A few friendly reminders as we close of this first semester on a great note.

1. If you are planning on checking out your student from the Winter Party, please communicate that with your child's teacher so they have their things with them in the gym to dismiss. You will sign your student out at the end of the party and dismiss through the side door where a staff member will check you out.

2. Our office team works hard to be as welcoming and efficient with our large and busy campus. Please remember to be kind and patient with those of us who are daily serving you and your child.

3. Do not park in the fire lane in front of the school. When we have emergencies that occur on campus during the day and there are cars in the fire lane, this becomes a problem for our fire trucks and EMS to help the students in need. Please be mindful as if this was your child needing assistance.

Thank you for all working together to make our campus the very best school in McKinney ISD.

We are excited for our Winter Parties this year on Thursday, December 21st.

RSVP for the holiday party for your Marshal.

We will not be able to accommodate lunch visitors on this day. Students will be eating lunch in classrooms. Any parent who is planning to check out their student from school early on party day should communicate this to their child's teacher in advance. This will allow students to have their things ready to leave from the gym after parties (or plan to wait until students are back in classrooms when parties are complete).

We will be sending each staff member off on winter break with a dessert to kick off their holidays! Please consider dropping off a dessert (or a couple!) the morning of Thursday, December 21st.

It is imperative that we all follow our arrival and dismissal procedures in order to keep all of our Marshals safe. Your student may be dropped off through carpool lane or parent walk up in the morning. If you are walking your student up to the front entrance, you will need to park in the South parking, cross the crosswalk, and then follow the sidewalk up to the front doors. Please DO NOT use the handicapped parking spots if you do not have proper permitting. Please follow the traffic flows on the maps below in order to allow our traffic to flow smoothly.

If you are picking your student up in carpool or parent walk-up, please make sure you have your McClure student pick up number with you for the 23-24 school year. For safety reasons the color of the tag changes yearly. Staff members will only release your student with the current year's tag.

Please use the correct location for your student's dismissal.

Please DO NOT park in the bus lane at any time during the day. This includes arrival and dismissal. The fire lane is for Daycare, School Buses and emergency vehicles only!

A valid state or government issued photo ID must be presented each time you visit, volunteer, or pick up a student. Please be prepared with your ID upon arrival. We are not allowed to accept a photo of your government issued photo ID.

Interested in volunteering in McKinney ISD for the 2023-2024 school year? Volunteer applications are being accepted for the upcoming school year. McKinney ISD requires all volunteers complete the required volunteer process each school year.

All volunteers with McKinney ISD agree to a background check each school year prior to beginning volunteer duties. McKinney ISD is dedicated to making sure that all students have the opportunity to learn and grow in a safe and secure environment.

The volunteer application process is just one effort used by the school administration to help make our schools safe.

VOLUNTEER APPLICATIONS MAY TAKE UP TO TWO WEEKS TO BE PROCESSED.

To apply, click the link below and select the School or schools of your choice. An email account is required for notification purposes. Once your volunteer application is processed and the criminal background check is complete, you will receive an e-mail notification regarding your application from the MISD Human Resources department.

McClure PTO is a group of parents (moms and dads) working in partnership with school staff to help keep families informed and involved.

Studies have shown students do better in school when parents are engaged at school.
