Drop Off Reminders
Instructions for Drop Off
1. Webster is a ONE WAY, SINGLE LANE street during school hours. DO NOT swerve around and pass any cars. Please take turns getting onto Webster Street.
2. No parking on either side of Webster Street (see red X's above on the map). Even if there are no cones out there. If you have to park, use the parking lot.
- Do not use the alley way. This is for the homeowners on the backside of the school. Do not use for parking, drop off or pickup.
3. Any parent who has to get out of their car for any reason (to open your child's door, to walk your child across the street, to help carry a backpack, etc.), MUST PARK IN THE PARKING LOT.
- No more stopping and getting out on the street even if just for a second. We have plenty of parking space in the parking lots (south and west of the Cathedral).
- You can also utilize Burt Street (north of the Cathedral) if you want a slower pace to the busy drop off lane on Webster.
4. Pull ALL THE WAY FORWARD to the crosswalk by the gym to let your child(ren) out of the car. If you are utilizing the drop off lane, your child is capable of walking to the door from that spot.
- Do not stop short of the crosswalk so your child has less distance to travel or so you can watch them walk into the doors.
- Listen to and follow the directions from the crosswalk attendant. No yelling, honking, cursing, or the like. A school drop off zone is not the place for those behaviors. Really, no place is appropriate for those behaviors.
- If you park in the parking lot or on Burt Street, your child will cross the street using the crosswalk by the gym. We are NOT using the crosswalk by the rectory (this applies especially to our PreK and K families).
5. NO SCHOOL PARENT IS TO PARK IN FRONT OF THE CHILD CARE! This space is for our Child Care families who have littles and babies. We are capable of using the drop off lane and/or parking lot for the school.
We are all busy in the morning, no one more than anyone else. Drop off is not meant to be the fastest part of our day, safety is rarely convenient or fast. Everyone needs to follow the expectations to allow for a smooth start to the school day. We know you have to get to work, school, home, appointments, etc. The school never moves so the mileage between your house and St. Cecilia never changes. Set the alarm earlier, leave earlier, and be patient.

Sports Photos
Sports photos are scheduled for Thursday, September 22, from 3:30-6:30 PM for volleyball (in the gym). If your child plays soccer or runs cross country, they can bring those jerseys as well. Thank you to Samantha Rodriquez for donating her time and talent to offer this service to our families.

Volunteer Opportunities
Cathedralfest Updates
It's that time of year when we ask for any and all volunteers to help out with Cathedralfest 2022! We utilize ivolunteer as our sign up for the event. Please click on the button below to see all of the ways you (and your family) can get involved during our parish fundraiser. A "how to" is included below that gives a step-by-step on how to sign up and utilize the site.
Middle school students are welcome to sign up for the volunteer opportunities that are available to students. We'll have two Cathedralfest chairs come in next week to talk to the students about the importance of volunteering and giving back to their community. Remember each school family is required to complete at least 15 volunteer hours each school year. Volunteering allows us to keep tuition costs and extra fees as low as possible for everyone.
If you are able to volunteer to help with the White Elephant Sale, please sign up on iVolunteer or call/email Marletta McKercher (402-551-7527; mmckerch@gmail.com). Your time and talents would be greatly appreciated.
Catholic Identity Corner
One of the benefits of attending school at St. Cecilia is that we get to celebrate Mass together each week. Anna Kolterman is our school liturgy director and she works closely with Mr. Tucksen to plan and develop our music, responses, and prepare the cantors. Each week, a classroom teacher is responsible for planning the Mass by practicing the readings, writing the intentions, and providing students to bring up the gifts. This year we added a prayer intention box that Father places at the altar each week. This is a great way to show the students how we bring our prayers to Mass each week, offer them up, and leave them with God when we leave Mass.

Meet Our Nurse - Erin Randell, RN
Hello, my name is Erin Randell, RN, and this is my 3rd year at St. Cecilia. I am going through your child(ren)'s medical paperwork for this year and there are many forms missing. Please send in medical paperwork as soon as possible (end of September is the deadline). It is helpful when families send in the necessary information rather than having me follow up. Here are the items needed:
- All Kindergarten Students: Immunizations, physicals, and vision exams
- All 7th Grade Students: Immunizations and physicals
- All New Students: Immunizations
- All New Students Who Transferred from Out of State: Physical and vision exam
- If you indicated on the Annual Health Update that your child needs emergency medications for a severe allergy, asthma, etc., please send in an Action Plan with both MD and parent signature along with the medication to the office.
