Message from Dr. Correa
Dear D56 Families,
I wanted to thank you for attending parent-teacher conferences over the last couple of nights. Your presence and active participation can truly make a difference in your child's progress and educational journey. Parent involvement in school is crucial for several reasons, all of which contribute to the overall success and well-being of students. The benefits of parent involvement include academic achievement, positive attitude toward school, improved behavior, better home-school communication, social and emotional growth, and increased parental satisfaction through the development of relationships and trust.
Overall, parent involvement in school plays a vital role in your child’s educational experience and it strengthens the partnership between home and school, creating a supportive environment where every child can thrive.
On another note, our next Portrait of a Graduate competency is Critical and Creative Thinker. The D56 Portrait of a Graduate identifies competencies at each grade level that will build a community of students and professionals working on common goals. The essence of this competency is for students to develop the skills of sharing ideas, understanding that making mistakes is a part of learning, and taking different perspectives to solve problems and complete tasks.
You can view the Determined Learner traits for each grade level on the D56 Portrait of a Graduate website by clicking on the icon shown above. We encourage you to review the traits of a Determined Learner and have conversations with your child(ren) on what it means to demonstrate those traits.
Dr. Luis Correa

Prairie Trail 4th grade students put on an AMAZING show under the direction of their music teacher, Mrs. Stacey O'Brien. Songs were from around the world as the students tried to find the missing library books!
