School Council Members Needed
Due to the role of the council in guiding our school, members are asked to make a two year commitment and be available to attend all council meetings. Meetings are held on Wednesdays starting at 3:30pm and last approximately one hour. Dates for the 2022-2023 council meetings are as follows:
October 12,th, November 16th, January 4th, February 15th, April 5th, May 3rd and June 7th.
State guidelines specify that the number of parent representatives must be equal to the number of teachers who serve on the council. State law also requires that if the number of parents interested in serving on the Council is more than the number of spots we have open, we will hold an election
Parents interested in serving on the Council or learning more about this role are asked to email to Amanda Luizzi before the close of the school day on Friday, October 7th. Please include “School Council” in the subject line.
Candidates need not be present at the Open Houses to be included on the ballot.
MMS Students Have Utilized 1,389 Paper.co Tutoring Sessions!
Did you know that Medway Middle School Students have already participated in 1,398 tutoring sessions since the launch of Paper.co in our district? That's right! 1,398!
We have also launched the Paper Chrome Extension on all student devices to help students access this resource even more easily! Next week our students will be asked to log into paper.co at home as part of their homework assignments. We encourage families to watch along as their children receive on the spot help from a Paper tutor!
Paper connects students to a real human tutor 24/7, 365 days a year, on ANY subject through live chat features. Students can also hand in any written work (essays, lab reports, writing prompts, and more) and receive feedback in less than 24 hours.
Go to Paper.co Log in using the upper right-hand log-in button and then sign in using SSO.

Community Forum - Equity Assessment
Medway Public School families are invited to join us for an in person for a School Committee sponsored Community Forum where Medway Public Schools central office leaders will share the results and next steps associated with the Equity Assessment process that we engaged in last Spring, 2022, in partnership with SchoolWorks. The Community Forum will take place on Thursday, October 13, at 6:00 p.m., in the Medway High School Auditorium.
Additional information about this event can be found in the email that Dr. Pires sent to the community on September 30th. We hope to see many Medway Middle School families at this important event.
Progress Reports
Late Bus
Last week, we had a soft launch of our Clubs and Activites. We were pleased that a number of students took advantage of the late bus opportunity. Each morning, students who plan to stay after school for a club or activity, who are meeting with a teacher to receive extra help, or those participating in Middle School Sports will be asked to complete a Google Form in homeroom to let us know if they will be using the late bus that afternoon. So far, students have been doing a wonderful job fulfilling this expectation.
The Late Bus will run on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday afternoons. The first late bus is scheduled to depart Medway Middle School between 3:10 and 3:15 pm. The second bus will depart Medway Middle School between 3:20 and 3:25 pm. We have been working with Holmes Transportation to create Late Bus routes. Please review these lists and note that our drivers will be working with us to review and revise the routes over the next two weeks.
