Principals, teachers, and staff are looking forward to seeing your children and are working hard to make sure they have a successful, rewarding school year. Please remember that the first few days of school tend to be unusual and everyone will be learning new routines, traffic patterns, classroom locations, communication, etc. Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding!

1. GoldStar Transit has hired enough drivers to have every route covered. Yay! We are still looking to hire a pool of substitute drivers so please let us know if you or someone you know is interested. Having substitute drivers help us keep routes covered with a bus driver is ill, has a medical appointment, or some other family emergency.

2. IMPORTANT! You can now find your child's bus information in your Skyward Family Access account or through the BISD mobile app (download it from your phone in the Apple Store or Google Play today!)

3. Skyward registration is required to ride a bus! If you haven't completed student information verification for the 23-24 year, your child is NOT signed up to receive bus transportation. You must complete the online verification and indicate that you need transportation on the directory form. THE DEADLINE IS AUGUST 11TH.

We are excited to announce that Bastrop ISD students in grades 6 through 12 will have their own Google Chromebook issued to them for use at school and at home!

This is an exciting development in our plan to improve the academic achievement and opportunities for all students, as well as develop work/life skills they will need. This initiative is called BootUp 1:1 and will level the playing field for BISD students. We are proud to provide devices for all students and are needing parent partnership to support the effort. The Bastrop Protection Plan is an affordable way to ensure that families are protected in the event of accident, damage, theft, or loss.

The Bastrop Protection Plan fee is only $25 for the first child in the household and a discounted $15 for each child after that, and a student with no claims in 23-24 can carry over their fee for the 24-25 school year.
