Greetings Eccles Community,

As this year comes to a close it also marks an end to my time as your principal. There is no question that this community has left a strong mark on me as a person. Working as an educator is such a unique experience and over the past ten years I have made hundreds of connections with students, staff, and families. In many ways this school community has shaped me into the person I am today. Thank you for your support and your trust all along the way. It certainly wasn’t always perfect and it wasn’t always easy but it was fulfilling, memorable and a time that I will truly cherish for the rest of my life. I look forward to my new challenge and a change in my ‘day to day’ but make no mistake, I am feeling grief over the loss of working so closely with the best school community a principal could truly ever hope for.

While I will strive to give your new principal space to grow into his role as your next leader, don’t be surprised to see me occasionally greeting at the main doors or visiting classes at Eccles just to check in. Please continue to do what you do best - taking care of each other. Continue to have each other’s backs and to support each other through tough times. Be a champion for the underdog. Sit next to someone who is alone. Randomly send a kind message when you think someone can use it. Be patient with others when they mess up and NEVER leave anyone out. Kindness is the absolute fabric of this community. I’ve seen it demonstrated over and over again. It is what makes this community so special and the core reason that this amazing school continues to thrive! I will miss you all oh so much!

Specific information about your student’s class placement will go out in mid-August to let you know when the assignments are finalized. This year you will be able to check your student’s class placement and teacher assignment by logging into ParentVue. At that time, you may simply log in and see which teacher your student has been assigned to for the 22-23 school year. You can prepare yourself for this by making sure that you have set up your ParentVue account and that you know how to log in. By now all technology for students, including iPads and hotspots, should be returned to school with your student. If you still have these in your possession, please send them by the last day of school tomorrow—Thursday, 6/9. You will be contacted by the school district this summer if they are not returned by the end of school. Thank you for your assistance!

Student’s who helped raise money for our Jog-a-Thon event this year, should have prize bags going home with them today and tomorrow. We are so thankful for all of their hard work and support through this event, and hope that they enjoy their earnings!

If you have a student who will be five years old by Sept. 1, 2022 - it's time to get them registered!

Families are encouraged to enroll their students ahead of time as registration is open online now, and enrollment helps us identify classes and resources needed heading into the next school year.

If you need help determining which school your child should attend, use the Clackamas County Address Checker.

We are hoping to establish an after-school childcare program from 2:30-4:30 p.m. beginning next school year, with a long-term goal of having a location at each elementary school. As we build this program, we need staffing to support this goal. We are looking for both site leads and assistants. Site leads would work about 3 hours daily. Childcare assistants could work up to two hour per day, and schedules can vary. If you have any interest in working some hours and being a part of this exciting new program in our school district, then please apply today.
