NBHS Morning Announcements

Parents,

Club and Activity Pictures will be taken on Tuesday. If your child is supposed to have a specific shirt or uniform (their coach or sponsor will let them know) for these pictures, please remind him/her to bring those to school on Tuesday!

The following groups will be photographed:

CACC, FFA, NHS, Student Council, Class Officers, Girls Basketball, Boys and Girls Soccer, Boys and Girls Golf, Scholastic Bowl, Wrestling, Track, and Cross Country, Key Club, FCA, FCCLA, Choir, Drama Club, Library Club, and Spanish Club

Lily Pidcock, Marissa Heironimus, Luke Cycholl, and Mr. Spears participated in Senator McClure's 2023 Youth Advisory Council on Friday, April 23rd at the Illinois State Museum. They met with Senate staff and McClure to share and discuss issues that are important for todays youth. They discussed public policy and participated in a mock committee hearing.

Ms. Kennedy's Dual Credit class taught 6th grade about "la primavera" or "spring." and have their April bulletin board posted in the HS hallway! It is great to hear students pointing out and speaking the words in both Spanish and English!

In Mexico, it is common for people to make "cascarones" around Easter time. These are hollowed out decorated eggs filled with confetti. They tend to be smashed on people's heads to give them good luck. They had fun with this!

As the year unwinds, and we start to get Spring Fever, students start to lose their momentum and motivation to continue to do their best. We have been trying to focus on being responsible and completing homework assignments, and started a Q4 incentive last week. The details are listed below, along with each week's winners!

Our Daily Announcements Include an Action for Happiness Challenge for the Day. Here is this Month's Challenge Calendar. Movement can bring amazing benefits for our minds and bodies. So this April we're encouraging you to get active in whatever way best works for you.

Click here to order your 22-23 Yearbook: Jostens Yearbook Order

The 20-21 Yearbooks have been ordered and we are still waiting on arrivals. I know it can be frustrating, but there's been a lot of communication back and forth with Jostens regarding this and we are working to get them in ASAP. The 21-22 Yearbooks are almost completed and will be in by the end of the semester.

I really appreciate everyone's patience with the yearbook, and after this year we will be back on track with everything! Please reach out if you have any questions!
