The end of the second trimester is quickly approaching! Report cards will go home on Friday, March 11th and parent-teacher conferences will be held on Thursday, March 17th. You will once again use the electronic registration system, School Appointments Online. Registration will begin this evening, Friday, March 4th, 2022 at 6 pm and will close on Tuesday, March 15th, 2022 at 10 pm.

Important note: The conference window is 2:00- 3:30 pm & 4:30– 6:30 pm. If you are unable to schedule an appointment and you have an immediate concern about your child’s progress, please email the teacher directly.

This week's story was The Box Turtle, by Vanessa Roeder. In this cute story, Terrance the turtle uses a cardboard box as his shell. He finds confidence in who he is and that there is nothing wrong with being who he is!

One thing the past two years have taught us is that there is so much that is outside of our control. That knowledge can feel overwhelming and can lead to inaction. When you feel overwhelmed it can be helpful to make a list of things that are within your sphere of control and things you can influence. Some of them may be small, but naming the ways you are able to shape the world around you can be a good reminder of the agency you do have.

Thanks to our amazing PTO, we not only have lots of new books for our classroom libraries but we also have some super fun magazines! We love reading all the interesting articles, especially as we work on learning about informational texts.

Mrs. Berton and some of her fifth grade students pictured below, created a beautiful mural outside, "reaching for the stars".

Mr. Wigman is a special education teacher in his seventh year at Hatherly School. He lives in Halifax with his wife Cathryn, 5-year-old son Frankie, and 2-year-old daughter Maryn. Some of Mr. Wigman's favorite things are dad jokes, playing and watching sports, and going on adventures with his family. When at home, the Wigmans enjoy watching movies, playing games, and having dance parties in the kitchen.
