A Holiday Thank You for LASD Staff
Three Ways to Say Thank You to Our LASD Staff
Our staff and teachers in the Los Altos School District are amazing. They always go above and beyond to support and care for our students. But this year, they've gone the extra mile as we all face the immense challenges of the pandemic and distance learning.
Our teachers have redesigned their instruction for a virtual and blended model, spent countless hours learning new technology and thoughtfully came up with creative ways to build community in their virtual and in-person classrooms.
Our staff keep our schools and facilities operating smoothly from the school office to the school grounds. In this public health crisis, they are disinfecting classrooms, supporting our teachers online and in the classrooms, providing essential academic and social-emotional support to our students and so much more.
And last but not least, our principals worked tirelessly to reimagine school during a pandemic to ensure all children had the best education possible, whether they chose in-person learning or Virtual School.
We are so grateful to every member of our amazing LASD team for their commitment and dedication always, but even more at this challenging time.
Please join us as we spread a little holiday cheer in appreciation for everything our teachers and staff do for our LASD community!
Here are a few ideas…
#1 Send an Email
Notes of appreciation go a long way. Send an email today to your child's teachers and to staff members you want to thank. Staff emails are typically the <first letter of first name><last name>@lasdschools.org.
#2 Write a thank you card
Put pen to paper and send a handwritten note. Please send your note to your school office so that it arrives on or before Wednesday, December 16th. Make sure to include the recipient's name on the envelope.
#3 Send a gift card
If you would like to show our teachers and staff some additional love, send them a giftcard! You can email an e-giftcard using a teacher/staff school email address. You can also mail a giftcard to your school office to arrive on or before Wednesday, December 16th. While you’re at it, please try to support some of our amazing local area businesses, many of whom have supported our schools through school-based fundraising drives and events. Local businesses need our support more than ever as the stay at home order comes at the normally lucrative holiday season.
