Thank you for praying for me. Between a virus, pneumonia, and kidney stones, it was a rough 3 weeks. But I feel much better and am grateful to be back to work. Thank you to those who brought meals to the Carter family. Your kindness was blessing.
This Sunday night is our Annual Fish Fry Potluck. Bring lawn chairs, a side dish, and a dessert. We’ve invited the Hispanic Church to join us as well that evening. Even though I don’t like fish, I look forward to the Fish Fry each year because we get to spend time together as a Church Family.
Please mark your calendars to join us on September 17 at 5:00 p.m. for our Deacon Ordination Service. This is a significant time in the life of our Church Family and the lives of these men and their wives. These are the men you nominated, your current deacons vetted, and we as a Church voted to approve. We are grateful that God called these men to serve our Church Family.
Our normal Sunday night schedule will return on September 24 at 6:00 p.m. Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (where I’m currently taking classes) has developed a series of classes called For the Church in which local congregations can take seminary courses for free. This is an incredible resource for local churches. I will facilitate us through New Testament 1 - which is an overview of the first 5 books of the New Testament. I hope you’ll join us on Sunday nights - starting September 24.
