April Newsletter 2022
Principal's Message
I hope this letter finds all of our Livingston families well rested after a week of family time. Of course, if it is anything like my house, routine seems to be more restful sometimes. I do however appreciate the fun memories that are made with the precious family time.
There are a lot of fun things coming up in April! I can definitely say we are on the downhill slide. There is still a lot of learning left to happen. Teachers and students are working hard to prepare for WY-TOPP testing and for the next school year. All students in grades Kindergarten through Fifth grade will be taking the Spring WY-TOPP Assessment.
With WY-TOPP testing in mind I ask that parents and guardians keep supporting your child's education by preparing them for the test the same way you do every day:
- Get a good night's rest
- Eat a healthy breakfast
- Come to school prepared and ready to learn
By keeping up this routine, your student will be just fine on testing days. We appreciate all that you do day in and day out for your students. We know that our students will ROCK the test!
Teachers are busy preparing students for next year and planning end of year activities. Attendance this time of year is crucial. Please stay in contact with your child's teacher for information on upcoming trips or activities. Our school website: https://livingston.park6.org/o/livingston is a great place to reference for school-wide activities.
Incoming Kindergarteners!
If you have a child who will be in kindergarten next year, registration opens on April 4th. Please be sure to register here:

Health-24 HR Rule
Vomiting: Keep your child home for 24 hrs. after the last time they vomited.
Please call the office if your child is absent.
Arrival and Dismissal
Morning Procedures: Arriving Early
Students need to be outside or at breakfast in the morning.
Breakfast starts at 7:45am
Time before school is used by teachers to plan and prepare lessons and materials. Because teachers are unavailable to supervise them, we cannot allow students to be in the hallways before 8:10am, unless you have arranged tutoring.
Instructional Bell- 8:10am
If you arrive after the bell you will be marked tardy.
Tardy: The elementary schools of Park 6 take attendance twice daily. Attendance is taken first thing in the morning and afternoon. In the morning , students who are late but arrive before 8:30 are counted tardy. If they arrive after 8:30, they would be considered absent for the morning. In the afternoon, students absent longer than 20 minutes after 11:30 will be considered absent for the afternoon.
Note: Habitual tardiness is dealt with at the building level. Five (5) tardies to school equal one unexcused absence.
Dismissal Bell-3:15pm
Please call the office before 2:30pm if you have a change in after school plans. This helps with getting notes to the children in a timely manner. If we don't hear from you, we will assume to continue on with regular after school plans.
Contact Information
If you are moving/transferring please give as much notice of permanent withdrawal as possible. Check out should be before or after school. Library books will need to be returned, and your records will be sent to the new school.
After School Programs
We have quite a few academic support activities (tutoring or extended day) going on. Also, we have several more programs that are in development and will be launching soon. Keep an eye on the FB page! Our teachers are excited seeing new faces and sharing their passions with our kiddos!
