COMMUNITY NEWS
Cedar Park Walk-Thru Celebration FOR THE WIN!
Almost 500 students braved the cold and rain to meander through our first outdoor social last week, playing games, winning prizes, and waving hello to teachers and friends.
Huge thanks to PTC organizers, Hannah Donohue & Jenna Dornblaser, and Cedar Park admins & staff, especially Dr. Shannon Anderson, Melissa Ackerman, Debbie Hernandez, Katelynn Hitsman, and all the teachers who joined us.
Everyone was a winner, as students had the opportunity to take home prizes including vinyl stickers, thinking putty, burrito blankets, Jamba gift cards & more. Bernie was on-hand for a photo-op, and teachers created a Black History Month showcase.
Congrats to our "Guess How Many" winners: Joel C. (Yukon), Fletcher T. (Yukon), Vincent W. (Amazon), Ashton L. (Amazon), and Ethan B. (Lotus)! Each have won a $20 gift card for coming the closest to guessing the number of marshmallows in the container (1304!).
If your student missed the walk-thru celebration, their art & science kits can be picked up from the school, along with a little snack & sticker to remind that “SUN”body loves them at Cedar Park.
This event was funded through the PTC budget and made possible by your PTC donation, Cedar Park & Transportation staff, parent volunteers, and YOU, the flexible parents that made the date changes & timing work. THANK YOU.

Big changes are in store for Cedar Park & its PTC, as all four of our current officers are either ending their term (term limits) or being rezoned to another middle school next year.
The following offices need to be filled for 2021-22:
- President
- Vice President
- Treasurer
- Director of Volunteers
Email Bettina (president@cedarparkptc.org) if you are interested in having a concrete opportunity to share your energy, vision, & voice with Cedar Park's administration in 2021-22.
Middle School Boundary Changes & 7th Grade Legacy Options for the 2021-22 School Year
In November, Superintendent Don Grotting announced the new Middle School Boundary Adjustment. As a result, some middle school assignments have changed. To check your student’s school assignment for next school year, input your home address into the school locator on the Beaverton School District website. (Make sure to select 2021-22 School Year Boundaries.)
In March, parents will receive further information from their middle school principal about forecasting (selecting classes) for next school year.
Some current 7th graders qualify for the Legacy Student Program. Instead of switching, this exception allows students who’ll be entering 8th grade during the 2021-22 school year the OPTION to remain at the middle school that they attended during this current school year. If this applies to your student, you’ll receive more information from the District.
