The Mather Memo
August Edition
Principal's Message
Whether you have visited us this summer or not, we will have a new look when you return, inside the building at least. Construction is nearing completion on 3 new classrooms and updated locker rooms to include additional privacy changing stalls for students - a frequent request from students over the years. But pardon our dust, final touches will still be finishing through August.
School begins August 30th for all students to return in person. Mather staff has been preparing all summer for updated protocols to ensure a smooth transition back to school with proper safety precautions in place. For more information, please attend our student orientation dates scheduled for next week (see the info below).
I wish you a wonderful and relaxing close to your summer, and students - I look forward to seeing you on Monday, August 30th!
Go Rangers!

Student access to COVID-19 Vaccine
The best place for students to get their COVID-19 vaccine is with their healthcare provider, who can also provide the childhood immunizations required for school attendance. COVID-19 vaccines may now be given with other vaccines on the same day. In Illinois, the vaccines required for school attendance are still required upon enrollment or no later than October 15th for most students. The COVID-19 vaccination is not required to attend school in the State of Illinois.
Currently, anyone aged 12+ can get vaccinated against COVID-19, regardless of insurance and immigration status.
Pfizer is the only vaccine approved for people between ages of 12 and 17. It is an mRNA vaccine that requires 2 shots, scheduled at least 21 days apart.
