PRINCIPAL'S NOTE
I hope that everyone had a wonderful long weekend and enjoyed the extra two hours on Tuesday morning! We are happy to have a little bit of snow to play in on the playground. Remember to bring all of our snow clothes to school daily, as we do go outside for thirty minutes each day.
This week we welcomed a new part-time staff member, Liza Pajak, who will be helping Ms. Smith as well as working with students in kindergarten and second grade. We're happy to have her on board, and look forward to you meeting her.
As previously mentioned, we will be having a fundraising event in the form of a Read-A-Thon next month. Our theme is "For the Love of Reading," and we will have a whole school reading celebration on February 17th. Our fundraising goal is $2,500. While this may sound like a lofty goal, if each student raises $25, we should meet our target. In next week's Thursday folder, you will receive more information and a pledge sheet. Stay tuned!
LOST AND FOUND
READ-A-THON IN FEBRUARY!
Keep an eye out for information coming home, January 26th, for our February Read-A-Thon! A pledge sheet will be going home for sponsors to sign up, and students will write their name on the form and record the minutes read from February 1-17th. Everyone may wear their pajamas in celebration on Friday, February 17th, and enjoy a PTA-provided snack. We LOVE reading!

CREDIT PATHWAYS PROGRAM (CPP) FUNDRAISER
The Credit Pathways Program is an alternative education program that supports students who have struggled to find success in the traditional classroom setting. The program uses an interdisciplinary model of instruction that focuses heavily on project based learning, field work, and community outreach. The Credit Pathways Program is in its first year of implementation and the students are organizing this fundraiser to try to raise money for continued field work, hands-on learning opportunities and community exploration. Please join us to help support an incredible group of RSU1 Students as they embark on a new path towards academic success!
