Chromebook Audit
Please make sure that students bring their Chromebooks to school fully charged; all student Chromebooks will be audited Wednesday during homeroom/flex.

Attendance News
Attendance notes are due within three days of your student returning to school. You may email them in at pattersong@bcsdschools.net or send them in with your student. You can check attendance at anytime in parent portal.

Schoology
Please sign up for Schoology using the parent access code located in your student's agenda. Please click HERE for the Schoology Parent Memo where you can find answers to questions like, "What is Schoology?," "What can Schoology do for you?," and more. Schoology provides you helpful daily summaries, like the example pictured below. The grade level with the highest percentage of parents/guardians signed up by this Friday, October 20th will get 100 Monarchopoly points. AND, any homeroom with 100% of parents/guardians signed up by Friday will get a homework pass.
i-Ready
i-Ready Challenge: Highest Percentage of Passed Lessons for Math
This challenge will be from 10/16 to 11/17. The grade level that wins will get 100 Monarchopoly points, and the top class will get a sweet treat. Please encourage your students to complete their i-Ready weekly requirements.
Becoming A Volunteer
Becoming a Volunteer at MMSOA:
Becoming a volunteer is a two-step process. Both steps must be completed before a volunteer will be cleared to come to the school.
Step One:
Go to https://bcsdextranet.bcsdschools.net/volunteers/ and complete the initial Volunteer Prescreening Form. When completing your form please make sure you pick Marrington Middle School of the Arts. Once the form is completed you will receive an email from donotreply@bcsdschools.net.
Step Two:
Be on the lookout an email from donotreply@bcsdschools.net. This email will contain a link that will take you to the final portion of the application process. Once you complete this second step the background check process will start. Once approved you will receive a confirmation email.
Both steps must be completed and your background check must come back clear before you are able to volunteer at the school. If you have questions, please call the front office at (843) 572-0313 or email andersonsarah@bcsdschools.net

Orchestra Musician of the Week 8 : Gabriella Mascarenas, violinist
Symphonic Scholars After School Strings Club
● Day: Tuesdays starting Oct. 17
● Time: 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM
● Location: Marrington Middle School of the Arts
- 7-8th Grade Orch. Need to practice G Force for our Veterans day Concert in Nov. 10th (during school)
- 6th grade Orchestra should be working on #42-48 in their book . We are using bows and placing fingers down on the strings to change notes.
- Instruments should be going home during the week or weekend for practice. Musicians are allowed to come to the strings room at 7:55 am to practice as well.
- Things to do: Attend the Improvisational Styles Concert at Berkeley HS on Nov. 9th at 6:30PM. Musicians from BHS , SHS and CBHS will work with Composer/ Performer James Anderson to learn improve and different alternative styles techniques.
- Did you know- Students receive discount tickets with the Summerville Orchestra and Charleston Symphony Orchestra.
