Stonybrook Red Storm Forecast

November 27, 2020

Stonybrook RedStorm ForecastNovember 27, 2020

From Principal Smith

Dear Stonybrook parents and caregivers,

Due to the increase in positive COVID cases in our city, the Marion County Public Health Department has guided all Marion County schools to begin VIRTUAL learning. Starting tomorrow, Monday, November 30, 2020 Stonybrook will begin VIRTUAL learning. We will continue VIRTUAL learning through Friday, January 15, 2020.

It is so very important that all students attend their virtual classes. Although we can not be with students face to face it is imperative that we can continue to connect with students and to continue their education.

Every teacher has reached out to their classes to inform them of how to access their Canvas page and Zoom links for VIRTUAL learning. We are still using our master schedule so 7th and 8th grade students will click the appropriate Zoom link for first period, second period etc. 5th and 6th grade students will also follow their schedule. On their teacher's Canvas page, they will see links for their morning teacher, related arts and their afternoon teacher.

5th grade students will follow the same schedule each day. 6th-8th grade students will have live instruction days on zoom and application days that follow the Black and Gold schedule. On application days, students can find each day's date on their teacher's Canvas page, click the date, and find work for that day. On application days, students will self-report their attendance via the link on Canvas.

The district has created a Transition to VIRTUAL resource webpage: https://www.warren.k12.in.us/o/msd-of-warren-township/page/resources-for-transition-to-virtual. If there are resources that you need that you cannot find on the resource page, please call us at: 317-532-8800.

FOOD DISTRIBUTION

Food distribution days will be Tuesdays and Fridays from 4:00 - 6:00 PM at Warren Central High School, Creston, Raymond Park, and Stonybrook Intermediate Middle Schools, as well as Moorhead Community Resource Center. Tuesday distributions will consist of 4 breakfast meals, 4 lunch meals, and 3 supper meals. Friday distributions will consist of 3 breakfast meals, 3 lunch meals, and 2 supper meals. Menus can be found on our website under Food Service and linked to this email. https://warren.nutrislice.com/menus-eula.

Thank you for you continued support. Please find safe ways to connect with friends and families over the holiday season. And please remind your students of how important it is for them to attend virtual classes so that they can stay connected with their teachers, friends and Stonybrook family.

School District Publications/News Media Use

The occasion may arise when the school district wants to recognize your child or Stonybrook. This may include your child's photo, your child's name or your child's work in district publications, newsletters, on school district websites, and in electronic/social media or in staff training videos. We may also want to tell the media (including newspapers, television, and radio) about your child's achievements. We never knowingly release information about a student to anyone who wants to use it for commercial/political purposes. However, we will honor your request to not include your child in these types of recognitions if you notify our office in writing that you do not want this type of information released
