TCE Summer 2022 Parent Book Study

You're invited to join a Summer Parent Book Study! The book, The Gift of Failure: How the Best Parents Learn to Let Go So Their Children Can Succeed, will be provided for you at no cost. It will also be yours to keep!

We are creating a Schoology Course to accompany the book study and will meet via Zoom for six sessions during the summer (you do not have to be available for all six zooms to participate!). Upon registration, you will receive an email with the details on how to register for the Schoology course. We will send the materials home with your learner before the last day of school.

Zoom Book Study Dates:
June 2, 5:00-6:00pm: Introduction + Chapters 1-2
June 16, 5:00-6:00pm: Chapters 3-5
June 30, 5:00-6:00pm: Chapters 6-8
July 14, 5:00-6:00pm: Chapters 9-10

July 28, 5:00-6:00pm: Chapters 11-12 + Conclusion

Don't Forget to Order School Supplies

Our Town Center online PTO store is updated with options to purchase school supplies and items for next year. We'd encourage you to purchase the "Trail Pass" that includes the following:

All school supplies
Room fund fee for class parties
Grade level t-shirt to wear on Fridays and on field trips
PTO membership, including access to the online student directory
Write-a Check donation

Because the Trail Pass includes a PTO Membership, you will be asked to log in or create an account prior to purchasing. If you purchase the Trail Pass option for each child, you will not need to purchase the above items separately in the online store.

Reminder: Field Day Volunteers Needed

Field Day is coming up on Monday, May 23rd! Our kids will have an entire day of games, water activities, and a trip to the CORE to swim! You will see details soon of what your child will need that day and what they can expect!

We are also looking for volunteers if you’re available! We will need help running games and activities for the different groups throughout the day.

Please use the Sign-Up Genius to sign up for a time slot. As we get closer we will be reaching out with your specific station and instructions!

STAAR Day Reminder for 5th Grade Families

Our 5th graders will take their science STAAR test Tuesday, May 17th. Our goal is to make this as stress-free for our learners as possible since this is only one daily snapshot of data for learners. As part of that, we'd love for parents to help us out with the items below to help our kids get their day off to a good start.

Make sure iPads are fully charged and brought to school that morning.
Send your child with their charger in case their iPad requires additional charging throughout the day.
Make sure your child has a good breakfast that morning or arrive at school by 7:20 a.m. to have free breakfast in our cafeteria.
If your child is absent that day, please contact our front office in the morning to let them know. Your child will make up their test upon their return.

**No visitors will be allowed in the building on testing days.

Reminder: Parent Panorama Survey

It is time for our TCE families to complete the spring Panorama Survey. Below is the link for you to use. If there are any questions that do not apply to you, you can leave those blank. Our survey window will be open until May 13th. While these responses are helpful for the district to see an overall picture, it is also helpful to us as a campus. Our administration team is able to view family responses to see both strengths of our campus and areas of growth that we can help support. Thank you in advance for participating.

Reminder: PTO Auditor Volunteer Needed

Another volunteer opportunity within the PTO is the role of Auditor. We are looking for a volunteer to complete an audit of the 2021-2022 room parent and general accounts during the month of September to be presented to the executive board. This role typically would not take more than 6-8 hours and can be completed over an entire month. Reminder: New Positive COVID-19 Case Reporting Procedure

A big thank you to our families for communicating positive student Covid cases to us. In order to help streamline the communication process for both families and our campus nurse, please fill out the following Google Form if your child receives a positive Covid-19 test. Once our nurse has received the form from a family, she will reach out to them during school hours to discuss a return date to school and any questions they may have.
