Showing Appreciation to the Alma School District Community After the Winter Storm
Following the recent winter storm, we would like to express our sincere gratitude to the Alma School District community for their understanding and support. We understand that it has been an interesting week, but your resiliency and patience were much appreciated. Make-up days for the previous inclement weather days will be announced later today. As we work towards returning to a sense of normalcy, we invite you to take a moment and enjoy these fun snow day photos taken by our students and staff.
Welcome to New York
Students from Alma High School and Alma Middle School, along with Mrs. Bocksnick and other parents, embarked on an exciting journey last week. The group visited some of New York City's most iconic landmarks, including Times Square, The Empire State Building, and The Statue of Liberty & Ellis Island. They also explored cultural institutions such as the Museum of Broadway and the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The students had the opportunity to attend a dance workshop taught by a principal dancer in "Wicked" and an improv workshop led by a professional performer. The group saw some incredible Broadway shows, including "Wicked" and "Six." During their trip, they also visited the Trinity Church and Alexander Hamilton's grave, the 9/11 Memorial, St. Patrick's Cathedral, and Central Park. The highlight of their dining experience was at Gayle's Broadway Rose, where they were serenaded by the waitstaff.
The trip was an incredible experience for everyone involved. The students were thrilled to visit some of the most famous landmarks in the city and learn about its rich history and culture. They were amazed by the architecture of the Empire State Building and the stunning views of the city from the top. The Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island was a moving experience as they learned about the immigrant experience and the role these landmarks played in American history. The students were also impressed by the Museum of Broadway and the Metropolitan Museum of Art, which housed some of the world's most famous works of art.
The dance workshop taught by a principal dancer from "Wicked" was a highlight for many of the students, who were able to learn new techniques and improve their skills. The improv workshop was also a hit, and many of the students found themselves stepping out of their comfort zones and trying new things.
The group saw some incredible Broadway shows, including "Wicked" and "Six." The students were thrilled to see the performers they had met at the dance and improv workshops on stage, and it was an experience they will never forget.
Visiting Trinity Church and Alexander Hamilton's grave, the 9/11 Memorial, St. Patrick's Cathedral, and Central Park was also a memorable experience for the students. They learned about the history of these landmarks and their significance to New York City.
The highlight of the trip for many of the students was the dining experience at Gayle's Broadway Rose. The waitstaff serenaded the group, and everyone had a great time. Overall, the New York City trip was an unforgettable adventure that the students will cherish for years to come.

The event was a huge success, with many community members showing up to enjoy a delicious breakfast and support the team.
