Hazel Owens Elementary Principal

Classroom assignments will be mailed the first week of August. Please complete the form in there for how you child(ren) will go home each day and return it to your homeroom teacher at Meet the Teacher on Thursday, August 12th.

Thursday, August 12th 5:30-7:00 p.m.

If your ordered from ETA through our PTA your supplies will be in your classroom before the first day of school. If you did not, please bring your supplies with you to Meet the Teacher. This will allow your teacher to get everything ready for the first day of school Monday, August 16th.

Please make arrangements to not drop off your children any earlier than 7:15 a.m.

The doors will open at 7:15 a.m. If your child eats breakfast at school, you will drop off right outside the cafeteria.

PreK & Kindergarten students only (and their siblings) may be dropped off at the back door by their hallway after 7:15 a.m.

Back Door Walkers also enter through the back doors.

Pre-Kindergarten & Kindergarten Pick Up:

Back of School - This will only work if you do not show up extremely early blocking busses and Jonestown Road driveways. Please do not plan on getting in line until 3:05-3:10 p.m.

PreK & Kindergarten Siblings:

Only siblings of PreK or Kindergarten students will go to the back pick up location with their little brother/sister.

First & Second Grade Pick Up:

Front Drive Clock Tower

Third, Fourth & Fifth Grade Pick Up:

Cafeteria Driveway

Siblings of Third-Fifth Grade Pick Up:

First and second grade siblings of 3rd, 4th or 5th grade students will be picked up at the cafeteria drive.

Back Door Walkers:

Back Door Walkers is a courtesy for those who live in the neighborhood directly behind the school. These students will be at their normal location at 3:10 p.m. Students may not be a back door walker if they have to cross over Jonestown Road without a parent in order to walk home. This is in the best interest of the safety of our students. Please make sure you do not stand in someone else's yard while waiting on your back door walker 🙂.

Car tags will be provided to all students new to Owens, and will be available for purchase through PTA during dismissal throughout the first week of school for returning students needing a replacement. If you have your car tag from last year, please make sure it is visible in your windshield. Thank you!
