SHES Weekly Update

I hope everyone was able to have a restful and joyful break with their loved ones. I spent most of my vacation in the Bay Area with my family. The break gave me time to plan and visualize the rest of the year. The staff, PTA, and I have some extraordinary events and learning planned for this new year. We cannot wait to share these experiences with you.

Your child/children will be taking their second diagnostic i-Ready test during the second and third week of January. Please make sure your child/children come to school on time, with a healthy breakfast and a charged Chromebook.

Coming back from break and finishing trimester 2 is always my favorite time of the year. You get to start to see the astronomical growth that your children go through and get into a captivating groove at school. I am very much looking forward to seeing everyone and continuing to see them grow.

It is important that the office has all of the most current information in case of emergency. COVID testing will be held at Shadow Hills Elementary School on Wednesday and Friday in the bus parking loop from 7:30 am - 12:30 pm. Testing is open to staff, students, and the community. Please pre-register at https://www.covxlabs.com/prereg-form.

Happy New Year, Shadow Hills Families!!

We wanted to extend our well-wishes to you all in this coming year and wanted to reiterate how grateful we are to be a part of this outstanding school community!

We wanted to share some of the incredible things your membership, time, and support for our PTA provides. We work hard to enrich the school environment for all of our kids, and this would not be possible without YOU, so thank you!

This past December, we accomplished great things; again, thanks to your support!

• Birthday table for kids with December birthdays
• Shadow Hills Giving Tree provided a very special Christmas for some deserving families on our campus. Thank you to all that donated to make this possible. We truly shine at Shadow Hills!
• Jolly Boutique provided kids the opportunity to do their shopping for loved ones. This year was extraordinary because, through your generosity, we could meet our goal of providing every child the opportunity to partake in this memorable experience.
• We set up a hot cocoa bar in the teacher's lounge to enjoy as a token of appreciation.

• We also provided unique gifts for all teachers and staff to brighten their holiday.

This year, we have so many exciting things in the works also! Here is a little sneak of the fantastic things we have in store:

• Launching our new and improved Art Docent program
• Launching our Garden docent program
