The Weekly Buzz 🐝
From Palmer River Elementary School
September 8, 2023
We are off to a FABULOUS start at Palmer River Elementary School! Each day brought smiles and excitement from our students and staff, despite some very warm temperatures outside.
Teachers worked with students on exploring new classroom spaces, finding important locations in our school building, and finally, they worked on teaching expectations for recess, lunch, hallways, and bathrooms. Please check out some photos from this week in the "Scenes from the School Week" section below.
We look forward to a full week with our students on Monday, and the wonderful year ahead. If you should need assistance, please email or call us anytime.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Kristine Kefor, Principal

Daily Drop Off and Pick Up Information
Please find our updated Drop Off and Pick Up Procedures on our website, or by clicking THIS LINK.
***In the morning, if you choose to park and drop off your student(s) instead of using the car drop off line, please walk children to the crosswalk, and all the way to the FRONT DOOR entrance. Please do not walk them over to the car drop off entrance.
***In the afternoon, please make sure you bring your Pick Up Tag and photo ID when you are picking up your student(s). Families who do not have their tag may have to wait until the end to reunite with children.
Communication with the school is essential. Please notify the school whenever you are changing how your child gets home from school at the end of the day. We request that an email be sent to the teacher, Mrs. Rupp (prupp@drregional.org), and Mrs. Saxon (lsaxon@drregional.org) to ensure that all parties see the communication. Please send this message prior to 2:45pm. Thank you for ensuring that our safety and security protocols operate smoothly and that communication loops are closed.
Notes from the School Health Office
Dear Palmer River Friends and Families,
It is wonderful to see all the students back from summer vacation. There is a lot of excitement in the building for new learning adventures.
In the Heath Office, I am working on keeping all of the children's needs met. If your learner has a medication that they require at school, two forms are needed to accompany the pharmaceutical.
Over the counter medications, such as Tylenol (acetaminophen) and Motrin (Ibuprofen), that are prescribed for a health condition, also require this documentation.
Your child’s physician is welcome to fax the medication order to 508.252.5110. The parent authorization form may be sent to me via email, child’s backpack, or facsimile.
It is important that emergency medications be in the building now that school has commenced. All medications must be delivered by an adult. This could be a friend or a family member.
Please feel free to reach out to me if you have any concerns or questions.
Kindly,
Alyson Bellora BSN RN NCSN

First Day Sign Off Forms
The Dighton Rehoboth Regional School District is excited to announce that we have moved most of our back to school paperwork to the Aspen Family Portal. This portal is a secure, online platform that allows you to complete all of your back to school paperwork quickly and easily.
There are several reasons why we have moved our paperwork to the Aspen Family Portal. First, it allows us to streamline the back to school process and make it more efficient for everyone. Second, it allows us to collect your paperwork electronically, which reduces our paper waste. Third, it allows us to keep your paperwork secure and confidential.
Through the portal, families can complete the following:
- Update their personal phone number
- Update their personal email address
- Authorize student photo release
- Agree to Technology Take Home (MS and HS students only)
- Agree to Student Acceptable Use Policy
- Agree to Student Handbook
We encourage you to log in to the Aspen Family Portal and complete your back to school paperwork as soon as possible. Here are some step-by-step directions to help you get started.
If you have any questions, please submit a Technology Helpdesk Ticket. Thank you for your cooperation.
