Mustang Virtual Academy
Horizon
First week - success!
Your students and the virtual teams are excited we have made it passed our first week of Mustang Virtual Academy. Last week brought us many challenges but together we worked through those challenges and accomplished everything we needed too. The upcoming weeks we hope to see our students become more comfortable with their learning platforms and start to build their academic knowledge.
CANVAS, EDGENUITY AND 6TH GRADE
A Special thank you to our 6th-grade students and parents who faced several challenges with Edgenuity this past week. We are so appreciative of your willingness to learn new things! We know it hasn't been easy but we are so proud of all your hard work!! You guys are amazing!!
New Information:
- Canvas - 6th Grade Students need to be sure to check Canvas daily for announcements, skill videos, Google Meet times, and to complete new daily elective class activities.
- New Elective Classes - To find a better balance, students will begin enjoying elective classes (life apps) on the Canvas platform rather than through Edgenuity. These life app classes will be more enjoyable and engaging (ex: rotations of PE, art, technology, STEM, and music).
- Edgenuity - Students will continue their online learning of core subjects through Edgenuity. Grading in Edgenuity has been postponed until Sept. 17th to allow students greater time to adjust to online learning and assist students in raising grades. We want every child to be successful and enjoy learning. We feel these adjustments will greatly help our students!
STAR Testing
The district has decided to assess all 5th and 6th grade students using the STAR program. Information will be sent out next week on how this process will work! We will be testing all students virtually by appointment.
