What a GREAT Open House!
Thank you to everyone who turned out for Open House/Back-to-School Fair/Extracurricular Fair last night! It was a great evening, and we were so excited to see our students as well as introduce you to our new staff. I hope you enjoyed it as much as we did.
A few things as we go into the first day of school Monday:
- Bus routes take a few days to adjust to new student pick ups, so thank you in advance for your flexibility as we get into our routines the first week of school.
- Doors open at 7:30 a.m.; K-4 parents may walk students to their classrooms--please enter at the door by the nurse's office for 1-4 students and the door across from the kindergarten room for K students; 5-12 students need to go straight to the gym, or if it's 7:40 or after they can go straight to breakfast; breakfast starts at 7:40 a.m.; first bell at 8:00--students who have cell phones with them will check them into their 7th hour classes and go to 1st hour; school starts at 8:05 a.m.; dismissal at 3:15 for bus riders; parent pick-ups and student driver dismissal after all the buses have cleared the parking lot and the all clear is announced.
- Please use the student drop-off entrance, not the bus entrance, to drop off students. If you are completely stopping and getting out of your car to help your student get out, if you would pull out of the line and park, it would be appreciated by those behind you. If you are coming in the building, you can park in the employee side of the parking lot.
- The nurse will be available at 7:30 a.m. if you need to drop off medicine.
Thank you for all you do to support us! We're looking forward to a great year with your students. See you Monday!
Information for 9-12 Math
As a reminder, all of our High School Math, ACT Prep, and Personal Finance courses will be taught through LAUNCH this year. Students enrolled in these classes have been enrolled into LAUNCH and Google and Canvas Accounts have been created for them. Students should have received to their Tuscumbia Schools email their account setup and login instructions. Parents should have also received instructions on how to access their Parent Portal and Canvas Observer logins. If students have any trouble accessing their accounts, staff will be available to assist with setup during class on the first couple of days of school.

Softball Practice on Monday, 8/21/23
We are going to attempt one more time to salvage part of our girls' softball season. There will be a practice on Monday, 8/21/23, after school at the ball field. If at least 9 players show up who are committed to playing softball this season, we will put in a request to MSHSAA to reinstate the team and get back on other schools' schedules. However, we cannot play any games until we can put 9 players on the field who have been to at least 14 practices, so we will not be able to play until that requirement is met. If we fall below 9 players at any point during the season, the remainder of the season will have to be cancelled. If you are interested in playing softball, you need to be there on Monday ready to practice!
Middle School Basketball--Late Practices
We do not have after-school supervision for middle school basketball players who have late practice this year. On the weeks they have late practices, those players will need to go home then return for practice--they cannot remain at school or on school grounds unsupervised. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
Student Accident Insurance
If you need reasonably priced accident insurance to cover your student, we are able to offer this through K&K again this year. Use the link in this flyer to apply online.
