CELEBRATIONS!
Great things are happening at WCS!
This week we were finally able to celebrate our fall athletes at the Sports Banquet! This season we offered WCS Cross Country in addition to Boys & Girls Soccer and an impressive 60% of our middle school participated in the sports program! 140 people came out to recognize the athletes' effort and achievement. A special thank you to Mary Johnston and Amanda Orff who coordinated and prepared the food for this fun event!

PUMPKIN DECORATING CONTEST
Students spent time decorating pumpkins as book characters for the annual PTA pumpkin contest! This year our entries were judged by Maine State Representative, Allison Hepler, Assistant Superintendent, Katie Joseph and The Director of the Patten Free Library, Lesley Dolinger. The three winning entries were James and the Giant Peach done by Mrs. Pols' second grade class, The Crane Wife done by Ms. Faulkingham's fourth grade class, and Charlotte's Web done by Ms. Gibbs' middle school Life Skills class!

SCHOOL-BASED HEALTH CLINIC
Additional Health Services are available at Morse High School through a partnership with RSU 1 and LincolnHealth.
RSU 1 has partnered with LincolnHealth and is offering expanded school-based health services at Morse. These services may include:
Treatment of acute, chronic, and injury-related health conditions
Well-child checks
Immunizations
Behavioral health treatment
Reproductive health
Services are provided by an onsite Nurse Practitioner (NP) and Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) employed through LincolnHealth. Services are provided in an effort to improve access to health care for youth and staff in schools in a safe, supportive, and confidential way. All major insurances and MaineCare are accepted and sliding fee scales and other payment support are available. Students and staff do not need to be regular patients of LincolnHealth/Maine Health to be seen at the Morse School-Based Health Center. LincolnHealth will work with your primary care office for referrals as needed.

7th GRADE WAYPOINT
We are super excited to announce that the application for Waypoint is now open for students in 7th grade!! 7th graders from RSU1 can apply on the Midcoast Youth Center website now until 12/1.

THE LAUREEN SWANSON MUSIC FOR YOUTH FUND
The Laureen Swanson Music for Youth Fund, reviews applications to support and enhance music education for youth under age 22 in Brunswick, RSU 1, MSAD 75, RSU 5. The Board reviews applications on the fourth Thursday of each month. Applications and more information can be found at https://www.laureenswansonmusicforyouthfoundation.org.
FREE FROM THE MAINE MARITIME MUSEUM
Join the Maine Maritime Museum on select Saturdays from 10:30 - 11:30am for STEM & Arts Family Workshops. These free events are led by a museum educator and are geared toward students ages 4-10 years old. CLICK HERE for more information.
The Maine Maritime Museum is offering Story Time on Tuesday, 11/7 and Tuesday, 12/12 from 11 - 11:30am. This program is recommended for kids aged 2-7. CLICK HERE for more information.
