CHS opened its doors in the fall of 2010 with only 750 students. Today we have over 2000 students and offer a wide range of classes designed to meet the needs of today's learners.

Beginning October 19th, all Burleson ISD parents who want to change from on-campus instruction to virtual instruction or from virtual instruction to on-campus instruction for the 3rd six weeks can log in to Family Access in Skyward and complete the “2020 - 21 Instructional Choice for 3rd Six Weeks” form. Please complete this form by October 25th for each student who you wish to switch. Please note that you only need to complete this form if you wish to make a change to your student's instructional choice for the 3rd Six Weeks.

All students who have chosen the "On Campus" instructional delivery option are expected to be on campus for each class period. Here are a few things for students to make sure to take care of prior to arriving:

On Campus Students:

• Have a mask and be prepared to wear it all day.
• Have headphones that connect to your device. You will need these to listen to any teacher interaction.
• Check your schedule in Skyward to see if any courses have changed. We will not print schedules at school so make sure to either print a copy or access it on your phone.
• Ensure that you are in dress code.
• Remember that all Zoom meetings are recorded and all IP addresses are accessible. Any inappropriate actions will be dealt with severely.
• Have a great school year!

Virtual Students:

• Have an adequate work area at home. No distracting materials should be seen.
• Make sure your camera works. Part of being a virtual student is being visible on the camera at all times.
• Make sure your clothing is appropriate.
• Remember that all Zoom meetings are recorded and all IP addresses are accessible. Any inappropriate actions will be dealt with severely.
• Have a great school year!

Class of 2021 Google Classroom

There is now a Class of 2021 Google Classroom. All seniors have been invited to join. Parents can join too. If you did not receive an invitation email and you would like to be added, please email Mrs. Tuomey and I will add you! I will be posting information often, including links to open scholarships.

Senior Recognition

As you receive your college acceptance letters, please fill out this form and create a slide to submit. There is a slide template you can copy and edit linked on the form. We want to celebrate your exciting news on social media and around campus!

Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

The new 2021-22 FAFSA form is almost here! FAFSA.gov will be available beginning October 1, 2020.

This is a single application that you must fill out to get federal financial aid (grants, work study and loans) based on your family income. This application needs to be sent to each school you apply to so that they can award financial aid. ALL SENIORS SHOULD COMPLETE THE FAFSA in October! Money is first come, first serve. DON'T WAIT! UTA is hosting free virtual SAT Math prep workshops. The workshops platform will be over zoom and google classrooms. Students will have to register online, have a gmail, and have access to a calculator. The first session starts on Saturday, September 26, 2020. Below is the electronic link to sign up.

We are still finalizing Graduation plans. In the mean time it's necessary to order Graduation caps, gowns, tassels, and stoles. All students who walk the stage during the ceremony are required to have their regalia purchased through Jostens. This ensures that we have uniformity. Students are welcome to use the cap and gown from previous year's CHS graduates, however, they will want to order new tassels and stoles with "2021" on them. Packets are available in the cafeteria and main office. Students are free to pick them up and order from them. Virtual students can come to get a packet from the main office any time during school hours.

Graduating Seniors can also go to the Jostens webpage to order. Order now to avoid the stress next semester.
