Principal's Message
Hello Eagle Crest Families-
Well this has certainly been an exciting first week back at school for our Eagle Crest students and staff! It was so nice to see everyone yesterday, and I know we are all looking forward to getting back to school tomorrow.
Thank you for continuing to be thoughtful about COVID and best practices for keeping our children healthy and safe. At school we have been consistent and diligent about our multilayered approach to ensuring a safer school environment, and I am proud of our students for continuing to wear masks, wash hands, and distance when appropriate. Thank you for your support as we do our best to stay in school!
I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
Warmly,
Amanda

Dean of Students Message
Hello Eagle Crest Families!
I hope you had a happy and healthy Winter Break! I got to spend a wonderful week in Carbondale, CO with my family. While it was nice to rest and catch-up with family, it also felt great to have all of your children back in school this week!
Now that the weather has finally decided to be winter-like and snowy, we wanted to remind everyone of some of our cold weather and snow policies at school.
Students should be bringing home their iPads with them each night in case there are more Remote Learning Days for inclement weather, like today.
Unless the wind-chill falls below 21 degrees, students will be outside for arrival and recess. Coats (and often hats and gloves) can be very helpful on chilly winter days.
Students are allowed to play in the snow at school as long as they are wearing boots. We have this rule because we do not have extra shoes, socks, or many extra clothes to give students who get wet. In addition to boots, students may bring snow pants, gloves, and tennis shoes to change into for PE.
Students are not allowed to throw snow or play on ice patches. Please help your child follow these rules before and after school, as well. We appreciate your help to keep all students safe!
I hope you were all able to stay warm and safe today!
All the best,
Lindsey Cheney
Dean of Students

PTO Update
Dear Eagle Crest Families,
I hope everyone enjoyed winter break and the bonus snow day! We have our first restaurant fundraiser night of the new year on Thursday, January 20th at Culver's from 5-8pm, followed by a virtual PTO meeting at 6:30 p.m. During the meeting, our guidance counselor Angie Kerbel will be speaking to parents about mental health issues kids are facing right now. We will also be voting on some important expenditures for this semester. As a reminder, all parents, teachers and staff at Eagle Crest have a vote. Lastly, we are in communication with a few schools that had students impacted by the Marshall fire to find out how we can provide assistance. Stay tuned for more info in the coming weeks!
Have a good week,
Jenn Pensy, PTO president
