Mrs. Smith shared information with 8th grade students this week about an amazing opportunity to secure future stability for first generation college students.

Clark State Scholarship opportunity for current 8th graders!

• FREE Tuition: for up to 3 years if selected. Can be degree or certification programs.

• Income Eligibility: Eligible applicants include anyone who qualifies for free or reduced lunch

• GPA Requirement: MUST have at least a 2.75 GPA (this is increased from prior years)

• Online Application: All applications must be completed online. This will help us track the student’s application and their progress throughout the program.

• Essay: The essay must be typed in Word/Google Docs. The document can then be copied and pasted in the designated box on the application.

• Recommendation Letters: There is a section to upload recommendation letters.

• Electronic Signature: The parent/Guardian must complete the electronic signature to process the application.

• Deadline: The application deadline is Friday, January 16, 2024 at 5 p.m.

Our students participated in the 1st annual GMS "Macy's Day Parade" which required design process work in float creation. Push, pull, drag, drive, ride, or even attach to a robot. They did amazing this first year! Thanks to staff and Mr. Parke for capturing photos of the event.

The induction ceremony for the newest members of the GMS National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) will take place in the GMS Auditeria on the evening of Monday, December 4th. The ceremony is set to begin at 7:00 and will feature the faculty council, current members, and new member induction.

Interim progress reports for quarter 2 will be headed home with students on Wednesday, 12/6. They will be passed out to students in homerooms.

Through a new partnership with Health Partners of Western Ohio, GMS will welcome the same mobile dentist opportunity offered at the elementary. Consent forms will be coming home with interim reports next week for those interested in this free to families opportunity.

Our next round of Conferences is scheduled for Thursday, January 11th from 3:00-6:30pm. Please contact any of your teachers or the office to set up a time.

Frontline Education has released the ProgressBook Parent and Student Mobile App (aka ParentAccess app) to the Google Play Store and Apple App Store. This app is available for your parents/students to download and use now. For those that choose to download, the app takes the place of the mobile web version of ParentAccess that parents and students have long used. In addition, Frontline has produced an overview video that can be shared with your users (video link is also in the attached instructional sheet).
