News from the Principal- January 26th
Dear Families,
We wanted to remind families that heelie shoes are not permitted in school. In the AES student handbook under the dress code you will find the handbook states:
- 4. For student safety tennis shoes are strongly recommended. Heelies and roller skates are not permitted. For safety reasons, it is recommended that students wear no open-toe/heel shoes such as sandals, or flip-flops. This is a safety issue with our playground surface.
Parent Teacher Conferences are on for February 13th and 15th from 3:45 - 7:00 pm. Teachers will be sending home letters to schedule specific times for each family. Valentine's Day parties will be February 14th starting at 2:30 pm.
Lost and Found is collecting a lot of coats, sweaters, and hoodie. If your child has lost an article of clothing at school please have them look through both cafeterias lost found for their item.

5th Grade Spelling Bee Winners!
Congratulations to Mason Meister, Aaden Barnhart, and Sophie Seever for being the top three winners in our spelling bee. They will represent AES in the county wide spelling on February 6th.
Soaring Student of the week!
Students at AES have the opportunity to earn recognition for positive behavior during the week. When staff members see great choices being made, students can receive a SOAR slip with specific praise. Every Friday, the names of every student who earned a SOAR slip are read during the morning opening. All student slips are entered into a drawing, and one student is randomly chosen to receive donuts for his or her class.
This week's Soaring Student was Ezekiel Lincoln from Ms. Mandrick's 1st grade class.
Thank you, Daylight Donuts, for partnering with us in this special recognition for our students!
