Thank You!
For your support of Churches in Mission
We are so thankful at Churches in Mission for the churches, businesses, civic groups, and neighbors who have helped us share blessings throughout 2021. Even before the holiday rush, we’ve completed more than 6,200 acts of assistance with food, clothing, and basic needs, helping more than 4,000 people in 1,200 households. Our work continues as we close out the year by sharing the love of Christ during this season of giving. We hope you’ll be able to help.
Don't Just Count Your Blessings, Share Them
Volunteers
As the distributor of Salvation Army rent & utility funds in Morgan County, we know the need for this assistance is growing. Funds raised through Salvation Army bellringing at the Camby Walmart, Mooresville Kroger, Monrovia IGA, Martinsville Kroger and Walmart help Morgan County families. If you can help any time from now through Christmas, please visit www.RegisterToRing.org to sign up or call either of our locations for assistance.
Volunteers are also needed at both of our locations during normal hours to help with holiday distributions as well as through the year to help with food orders and sorting donations. We also have service opportunities outside of our normal hours. Please email admin@churchesinmission.org or message our Facebook page to learn more.
Needed Items
Our most-needed items for Christmas include:
· Children’s clothing and pajamas, sizes 6-16/18 for boys and girls
· Family board games and card games
· Full-sized blankets and bath towels for family baskets
To accommodate Thanksgiving and Christmas needs, we ask that donors hold onto donations of used items until January. The exception to this is used coats, bedding, and towels, which are in high demand. Some of other our most-needed donations include hygiene items which cannot be purchased with food stamps, such as shampoo, toothpaste, and toilet paper. Food donations which are always appreciated include “meal-maker” items such as soups & stews, canned pasta, peanut butter and jelly, macaroni and cheese, and cereal.
Financial Donations
We appreciate financial donations to help us purchase any items which might be running short, pick up perishable items such as eggs and milk, and pay for overhead costs including electricity. As a 501©3 organization, donations to Churches in Mission are tax deductible. Checks may be sent to or dropped off at either Churches in Mission location. Online donations can be made through website https://churchesinmission.org/financial-support/ . Donations made on Giving Tuesday (Tues., Nov.30) will even have a dollar-for-dollar match – watch our Facebook page and website to learn more!
