Trailblazer Families,

It's that time of year that we are all getting tired of so many hours of darkness outside and lots of cloudy days. One way to combat this feeling is to keep our kids active. You've heard from your child about our STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) challenges. Recently we challenged students to create something new out of a cereal box and this week we challenged them to create something new out of a water bottle. The designs and effort put in to both of these projects were really enjoyable to see and talk to kids about. We all have trash, so we all have the ability to challenge our kids to create something new. Be on the lookout for future STEM challenges. In the meantime, create your own challenge at home. Send me a picture and I'll post it on our school app and Facebook page. As always, if you have any feedback or questions please contact me. We'll see many of you soon at our parent/teacher conferences. If you would like to schedule a conference please contact your child's teacher. Our conference date is listed below in the important dates section along with many other upcoming events.

Current fifth grade families are invited to East Noble Middle School for a sixth grade schedule meeting. This will take place on Thursday, May 7 at 6:00 pm.

We are holding a preschool round up during our Kindergarten round up on Thursday, March 12 from 5:30 to 7:00 pm in our preschool classroom wing. Attending round up for preschool will not guarantee a spot for new students for next year. We are looking for students that will be 4 years old during the 2020-21 school year and 5 years old by August 1, 2021. Come join us to learn about our preschool opportunities for next school year.

KINDERGARTEN ROUND UP IS THURSDAY, MARCH 12 FROM 5:30 TO 7:00 PM AT SOUTH SIDE

Items needed for Kindergarten Round Up:

Birth certificate

Social Security card

Immunization record

Proof of residence - something showing your name and current address (utility bills, for example)

Custody documents if parents do not live together

**Forms can be picked up in the South Side office daily from 7:15 to 3:45. A form will be sent home with all students in the near future. Please share this with any family or friends that need to enroll a Kindergarten student for next year.

Friendly reminder! East Noble School Corporation has partnered with the Bowen Center and the Northeastern Center to help provide students support outside of school. East Noble Students are offered two free counseling sessions at both facilities. If you feel like your student may need someone else to talk to, please reach out to the Bowen Center at 800-342-5653 or the Northeastern Center at 347-2453.

Mrs. Carden is also available to speak to South Side students during the school day. Please give Mrs. Carden a call or send her an email at jcarden@eastnoble.net if you have any questions or concerns.

Here are some things to remember for school delays:

Monday late start does not apply in the event of a weather delay, all times below are for Monday through Friday.

Doors open: 9:45

School starts: 10:00

There is no school breakfast on delayed school days

Although we hope to avoid school cancellations the reality is upon us that Mother Nature may have other plans. If your child has experienced any difficulty completing our previously planned ELearning days so far this year, or if you are experiencing any technical difficulties at home with your school-issued device please contact your child's teacher before we start to experience multiple weather related ELearning days. Students do have three school days to complete each ELearning day's assignments, but the process is much better for kids when they can complete their assignments at home on the day of ELearning.

We are happy to welcome parents to our car line each morning and afternoon. We ask that all cars waiting in line please turn off your vehicle, as we do want to promote our car line as a no idle zone. We also want to remind you that all East Noble school campuses are tobacco free meaning that we cannot allow smoking in our car line. Thanks for keeping the air around our school free of smoke and car fumes.
