Hello CCA Parents,

We will be celebrating Catholic Schools Week from January 25-31 at Christ Child Academy and our supporting parishes of St. Peter Claver, St. Cyril & Methodius, and Immaculate Conception. Your support and participation in the following activities is appreciated. The theme for this year is "God gave us Each Special Gifts".

Catholic Schools Week Masses - January 25-26

We welcome all families to participate at Mass on this weekend. Please review the sign up link to see where you can help.

CSW Mass Sign Up

This year, we are again asking for all students in grades K-5 to sing in the choir during Mass. Please have your children at Mass 30 minutes before Mass to practice. Wearing the CCA polo is optional but would look awesome. If a family has children in multiple grades, just pick one of the masses for your children to attend and sing.

January 25 Saturday 4:30 pm St. Peter Claver - Grades 1-2-3. Arrive at 4:00 pm

January 26 Sunday 10:30 am Immaculate Conception - Grades 4-5. Arrive at 10:00 am

Open House - Wednesday, January 29 from 6:00-7:30 pm

The Open House is for both current families and also prospective parents looking to send their children to CCA. The prospective parents begin in the church while the current families may go to classrooms and the gym to observe our Talent Night and have refreshments.

Talent Night

All families received the attached sign up form in December to assist in planning for the talent night. Please complete and return to the school office by Wednesday, January 22nd, so we may prepare the gym and schedule. This is optional but an excellent way for students to display their God-given talents. Most of the entries would be displayed on a table with pictures or items built but musical performances are also encouraged.

Please mark your calendars for Home & School - Culver's Night scheduled for Monday, January 20 from 4:00 - 8:00 pm. Christ Child Academy will received 10% of the sales when customers use the flyers provided. The flyer is in the Carrier and also can be found attached below.

Thank you to all the families that collect Box Tops or used the new app for the Box Tops for Education program. We received a check in the amount of $454.80 for the last submission period of March 2 - November 1, 2019. Thank you to the Janovetz family for preparing the Box Tops to be submitted!

As we enter into January, please review the CCA Dress Code with your children to ensure everyone is dressed appropriately on both Mass and non-mass days.

Non- Mass Days - students wearing yoga or tight-fitting pants are to have a shirt that covers their buttocks. Sleeveless shirts are also not permitted without a cover-up.

Mass Days - CCA polo shirts are to be worn under any fleece jacket, vest, or sweater. These polos are to be tucked into the pants/skirt during Mass. Yoga pants are not to be worn to Mass.

DON'T FORGET that the deadline to get your registration forms in for $40/person is January 10, 2020. After that tickets will be $50/person. Registration forms are available on the website or in the school office. You can also register online at: REGISTER HERE NOW

Donations/Sponsorships – Now accepting donations and sponsorships for Winter Extravaganza 2020. More information is available on the registration link above and will be sent home next week in the carrier. Any questions can be directed to Molly Oehldrich at molly.oehldrich@gmail.com

BOOZE/WINE DONATIONS NEEDED – We will be having a Booze Wagon Raffle again this year at Winter Extravaganza. We are looking for donations of any type of liquor or wine to fill a wagon (or two). Please turn these donations into the school office now through February 7th.

ALUMNI – Calling all Alumni to volunteer on the night of Winter Extravaganza. If you are interested, please email Molly Oehldrich at molly.oehldrich@gmail.com by Friday, January 31st.

During this school year, Christ Child Academy will be transitioning from a traditional grading system to standards based grading system, which will go into effect for the 2020-2021 school year. The Archdiocese of Milwaukee has strongly recommended that all schools move to this reporting framework.

As we proceed through this transition over the next year, please know that our goal of academic excellence remains our priority. These "best practices" will enable parents to fully understand where their child is academically while at the same time motivating students to become life-learners.

The Parenting Guide to Standards Based Grading will provide valuable insight during this transition. Additional information will be coming in the following weeks.

Our Scrip store is available Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:45-3:10 pm in the Conference Room (next to Mrs. Lampe's office). The entrance to purchase SCRIP is door #1 on the northeast corner of the school building. SCRIP is also available after all weekend Masses at all three parishes. The 2019 CCA Annual Fund has begun. Please support our school and share the link below often.

If parents or grandparents plan to participate in field trips, work in the lunchroom, coach, or help out at school, you must attend a Safeguarding All God’s Family training through the Archdiocese of Milwaukee. You must register on-line at www.archmil.org and indicate you are associated with Christ Child Academy. If you have not previously been trained, now is a great time to attend a session.

All parents, guardians, and students are welcome to attend the Christ Child Academy Open House on Wednesday, January 29, 2020 at 6:00 pm and the Christ Child Academy State of the School Celebration on Tuesday, May 26, 2020 at 5:30 pm. Our Principal, Mark Ruedinger and members of our Governance Board will be present and available to meet with anyone in attendance. We look forward to seeing everyone at these events.
