Early Release Day for All students. Tuesday, February 6th at 12:00 PM
Final Day for Winter Activities is Wednesday, February 7th
Winter activities are finishing up this week on Wednesday, February 7th. Remember all students have an early release day, so that they can attend their Winter Activity. We are looking forward to the final week of students and staff having a great time. It is wonderful for all of the students to experience something that they may not get to do on a regular basis. Just a reminder if there are families that still need to pay for their child's winter activity, please do so, ASAP. Please reach out if you have any questions.
PAWS AfterSchool Is Hiring
The PAWS After school Program is hiring!
The PAWS program runs Monday through Friday (when school is in session) from 2:30pm to 5:00pm. The program currently serves 52 students in grades K-8.
Qualified applicants should be 18 years or older, have a high school diploma or equivalent, and pass a background check. Experience is preferred but not required.
Pay starts at $20 an hour, depending on experience.

4th Grade Field Trip
Parents/Guardian of 4th Grade Students:
On Friday February 9th, the entire 4th grade was invited to attend a showing of Freedom Songs at the Claremont Opera House. A permission form was given to students on Thursday with specific information about the performance and can also be found here. Please reach out to Melissa Cole, school counselor, with any questions.
Opportunities for 8th Grade students at Multiple High Schools
Attention Parents and Guardians of 8th grade students:
Are you interested in learning more about Hanover High School? Here is a link to Hanover's Important Dates document. The next event that they have coming up is Curriculum Night on February 5th at 5:30 pm.
If you are interested in your child attending Springfield High School and/or are interested in setting up a school visit with SHS. Please use the following request form: SHS School Visit Request Form. The school counselor at SHS will then reach out to you.
If you are interested in your child attending Woodstock Union High School and/or are interested in setting up a school visit with Woodstock. Please use the following link to get more information.
Would your child like the opportunity to visit Thetford Academy? TA is holding their "Taste of TA" event on February 7. This is a half day event designed to give prospective students a little glimpse of life as a TA student. The visiting students will have the opportunity to visit a core and elective class, talk with current students, faculty and administrators. They will learn about the academic offerings, Thetford Outdoor Program, athletics and extracurricular activities as well as have the opportunity to ask questions.

If you have already attended a visit day at TA and are considering Thetford Academy as your high school choice I highly recommend you start the application process now. Course registration for the 2024-2025 will launch in just a couple short months, in order for you to have priority access at that time we need confirmed enrollment from students. Lunch with a Loved One
During the week of February 12th-16th you have the opportunity to come and have lunch with your loved one. If you would like to participate, please fill out the attached form. You will just choose a date and enjoy the time at school.
Cold Weather Reminder
Just a friendly reminder that as the cold weather approaches that students need the proper cold weather attire to play outside at recess. Once the snow hits the ground and stays, we encourage all students to have snow pants and gloves to stay warm and dry.

WSESU is hiring support staff to work with students in our schools. Positions include elementary and middle school staff supporting students in academics and social emotional skills. Weathersfield Student Goes Above and Beyond with his Drone Team
Adler Gleeson's team won 3rd place at the Drone Competition held on Saturday, January 27th at Riverside Middle School. Roughly 100 middle and high school students from Vermont, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts participated in the tournament hosted by the Robotics Education & Competition Foundation. Adler's team will travel to Connecticut on Saturday, Feb. 10th to compete in another competition. Good luck and we are so proud of you, Adler!
